Play/Hack PS2 Games On 40gb
I have teh 40gb Ps3 Because the otehr consoles are discontinued here so i would liek to know if i could play real ps2 games on ma ps3 for example edit the serial number to a 60gb serial number and updating maybe they will send me a Firmware with the ps2 loader enabled

You cant play PS2/PS1 games on 40gb model PS3. End of story, no alternatives but to upgrade your PS3.

There is no emu chip or emu software in the 40gb and cannot be done with firmware so you are out of luck.

Just to reiterate, as many of you take "no" with too much hope on this issue...
a 40gb PS3 will never, ever, ever, EVER play PS2 games unless a completely new emulator is written BY SONY THEMSELVES, which is not going to happen. Not while the PS2 continues to be a liferaft for sony. If you want backwards compatability, then sell it and buy a 60gb second hand. they're everywhere. |

NO No. End of story. No way possible to play PS2 games on a 40 GB. How about you just upgrade your PS3, and at the same time learn to type English. |

Ok I might buy the 80gb then in white looks very nice
Edit:: I Dont really wont to play that many ps2 games lol and i have a ps2 in the cuboard so im Goin to keep my 40gb with the 160gb Extended hardrive and by a 5 port usb hub and be happy hey its still a playstation 3 That kicks xbox'S Arse XD Last edited by IIRR; 01-16-2008 at 01:43 AM. |
