I have successfully installed ubuntu via shell now.
It is also shown in the boot loader but unfortunately does not start.
i did all of the instructions in the wiki of gitbrew to the point where it creates ps3flash device.

When I click on ubuntu to start it petitboot says booting ubuntu
then comes a new window where it says:
init: plymouth main process (372) killed by SEGV singal
init: plymouth splash-main process (578) terminated with status 2

then nothing more happens
anyone knows what this means?
i installed it the second time and it's the same message after starting ubuntu.

The real problem is that a new version of udevd requires an entry for /dev in /etc/fstab, as suggested here. I added at the end of /etc/fstab the following line: dev /dev tmpfs rw 0 0

Try to edit fstab from within petitboot shell to see if this fixes the problem.

Note: plymouth = ubuntu 11.04, I only could run Ubuntu 11 after installing Ubuntu 10 first and update afterwards.

i installed the new rebug cfw and added the line to fstab and now it boots
