My guess is that your problem is related to the GAMEID. Some games started with direct boot use BLES60806 (multiMAN's game id) instead of the game's one. So probably your save was using BLES60806. Otherwise it should work without the direct boot setting.

To have 2 concurrent versions of MM, you need to change at least the multiMAN's folder name, the game id in the PARAM.SFO, and the paths in options.ini

I would try first making a backup of the saved game, and edit the game id of it to match the game's id.

multiMAN ver 02.05.05 UPDATE (20110908-202300)

* Added quick access options to SIDE menu for XMMB Game and Favorites columns
* Performance check: multiMAN does ~122fps @ 1920x1080p 59.94Hz
* Video buffering changed to 4 frame buffers
* Updating XMMB columns now runs in parallel (as it was in earlier versions - all columns refresh at the same time)

Could we view our video files in the same way we can view our game lists in the various views?

Actually, it's the opposite.

The Save's GameID is the proper one from the game. That's why it works properly when I run it from the actual Blu-Ray.

In the older versions of MM, when you started a game using direct boot, it maintained the proper GameID while running. In the newer versions, it tells the PS3 that the GameID is Multiman, regardless of what game you're running. So when the game goes looking for it's save, it doesn't find the properly named/id save, because it's looking for one marked BLES60806. And when you go to exit a game started with direct boot in the newer versions, it says "Quit MultiMAN?" whereas in the old versions it would say "Quit Ghostbusters?" (or whatever game you're running).

Every game run under directboot now identifies itself as "MultiMAN BLES60806" instead of the proper game name.

Actually all direct-boot games identify themselves as BLES80608 since the directboot was added almost an year ago. This is how the PS3 works and it never changed, because it is not in the scope of multiMAN's functions.

Ok, so what changed in Multiman between 2.00.01 and 2.03.00 that made this save no longer work when running direct boot?

No, but you can use XMMB display mode for the same thing, just having them placed VERTICALLY, just like the real XMB.

Because there is no NTFS driver which enables write access to NTFS volumes.
