I tried fixing it by deleting all video's from the main xmb using the official xmb as that is how they were copied to the ps3. I checked System settings first and had 38gb free of 296gb, after deleting all videos i checked again to still see 38gb free?
I loaded up multiMAN to check if the copies were still in BLES80608/USDIR/XMB VIDEO and i found that the folder was empty.
After closing multiMAN i checked and found i now had 51gb free.
Pressing triangle then information on multiMAN shows it as size = 24gb?! and checking through the folders of multiMAN i can't find any files that could add up to this.
It seems like the copies were deleted from the folder but there was no gain in free hdd space.
I don't really want to but if i have to i'll try deleting multiMAN to see if i gain the 24gb.
Also sorry for posting in the wrong thread earlier and this is not a complaint or a demand, just doesn't make sense to me?

I found the 24gd i have Uncharted 2 and L.A Noire internally cached

lost hdd_0 free space

o.k now i have a different yet slightly the same problem, on the 40gb ps3 i have approx 2000 mb free. When i check information or try to delete multiMAN it shows as size = 15gb, i have no games cached internally but i found multiMAN copied the video files saved on the ps3 hdd_0 to the /XMB VIDEO folder which accounts for the 15gb.
I cannot afford to lose this much hdd space so i tried deleting multiMAN from the official xmb.
multiMAN uninstalls successfully yet the ps3 fails to gain the 15gb in free space?
After uninstalling multiMAN i only have approx 2100mb free?
I re-installed multiMAN and before running it was size = 66mb (2.00.05) then after running for the first time exiting back to official xmb and checking information multiMAN shows as size = 15gb again yet free hdd space is still around the 2000mb mark.
I also tried deleting the contents of XMB VIDEO folder with multiMAN file manager and after exiting and checking, multiMAN then shows as size = 71mb yet free space in official system settings still remains at around 2000mb
The hdd space seems to have vanished yet also appears under the right conditions and i am unable to reclaim it by simply deleting files as is usually the case.
I have never really noticed this before as i have a 320gb ps3 but i installed cfw on my friends 40gb today and before installing multiMAN there was 16gb free then after installing and running for the first time free hdd space had dropped to below 2gb and now i cannot reclaim it?
This may be a flaw in the o.s (both ps3's on kmeaw) but iv'e never experienced it before and it seems to have originated from the fact multiMAN copied the files to the XMB VIDEO folder.
Sorry if this sounds like a rant, just trying to give as much info as possible.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a usb controller for 2 hdds. Mostly when I connect usb to the ps3
the first connected device is detected as a /dev_usb00* but the second one is detected as a /dev_usb0** (e.g. /dev_usb091) or a /dev_usb*** (e.g. /dev_usb121).
When this happens the second device is not scanned by multiman... Is there anything I can do so that multiman scans this device?
The only way is to edit the options.ini (options_default.ini) and add another scan device - for example:

hdd_home_4=/dev_usb091/GAMES
or
hdd_home_5=/dev_usb091/GAMES

I had over 16gb free before installing multiMAN then after running it for the first time i was told i needed to delete game data due to lack of free hdd space.
I press triangle while on multiMAN at official xmb and it registers at 15gb?!
I traced it to the USDIR/XMB VIDEO folder where there were copies of all movies i have saved on internal hdd, any help would be appreciated.
The files you see in USRDIR/XMB Video are LINKS to the files and these links occupy ~5-10KB of HDD space. What you see reported is not the actual size of the folder but the size of the files, which are located under /dev_hdd0/video/** subfolders.

multiMAN doesn't copy the files, otherwise such operation would take 5-10 mins

Just updated yesterday to the latest version. I use coverflow theme (games side by side). When I load MM there is a graphic glitch on the bottom of the screen that runs from one side to the other.

It only happens on the coverflow mode. Every other mode is fine. I tried to reinstall and also tried the base package from here. I wanted to revert back to the last version but it won't let me.

Any ideas how to fix this or how to go back to previous version without uninstalling MM first? TIA

***Just noticed that when the button info fades (bottom of screen) disappears so does the glitch.***
I think I fixed the issue yesterday. Try to enter "debug" mode in multiMAN (hold L2+R2 during startup) and then use the UPDATE function to get the new version. Post back if the problem remains.

That makes sense. Yet what does not make sense is that now i have lost 15gb of free hdd space. The LINKS are registered by the ps3 as having used the full size of the video files and checking with filemanager shows the USDIR/XMB Video folders properties as 14gb. 16gb free before installing mM just >1gb free after installing and running mM once. Both official system info and your built in system info display the same >1gb free.
I am no expert but it seems that the LINKS are registered as 700mb+ yet are only physically kb's in size so upon deletion you gain the physical kb size but lose the difference between the size of the original file?
I have installed cfw on over 20 ps3's and this is the first time i have encountered this. I usually require >8gb free to install all apps roms and such and after installing and running mM once i lost 15gb?

Thanks for your reply deank
