If your NAND gets corrupted you wont be able to unbrick unless you backed up your NAND first. So to use this to unbrick your PS3, you would have needed to install this and backed up your NAND before it went bad. And if you are bricked due to hardware failure, then you can practice your soldering skillz, lol.

You don't need a previous dump, you can use the old CoreOS Sony were kind enough to leave there, in case we ever needed it! Or you can get what you need from a .PUP file..

It depends how it was bricked, but that'll fix 99% of bricks out there!

A good idea is to dump your NAND or NOR from Linux if you've got it set up. Then, if the shizz hits the fan, you've got a dump to write to it and it'll save you a lot of hassle (make sure it's a full 256mb dump, not a 239mb one without the Bootloader).

alright heres just an idea someone please tell me if this would work. what if i bought a brand new retail hdd thats never been used before put it in my ps3 and when it asked me to put in the firmware i put in 3.55 OFW then jb it? or if i put my hdd in my desktop and got a program to delete everything and make it as if it was new?? someone please message me back about this.

Part of the firmware is on the HDD and the other part is on the NAND/NOR.

I really think i might try this out when it arrives. Im one of those stupid people who upgraded there ps3 thinking a new hack would be found soon after D: (and my friend really wanted to play online) ive been really hating myself ever since. Hopefully this is either solderfree or easier to solder then the infectious
