Hmm for a mobile gaming platform that should still be plenty I think. The PS3 only had 256MB too if I remember correctly.

fail! one more from sony taking features away, 256 ram is enough for a handheld? yeah go tell that to the samsung galaxy S2 and that is not a gaming machine.
it will be outdated pretty quick and will fail like its predecessor did, the only thing the psp was good for was for homebrew.

On the PS3 the only time I find that the ps3 ram was not sufficient was when using the web browser (had to close some windows to open more). Also the A9 processor is a beast and surely make up for anything that is lacking in the PS Vita IMHO. But all in all more RAM really would have been better.

They could have made it so you could upgrade the ram yourself, even if they charged for unique ram would be better than just saying no. Would please everyone and sony would make even more money from it.

At least, this time they start reducing things before the release, not after the release, like they did with ps3....

They started tearing down the ps3 before launch. When first unveiled it was supposed to have 2 hdmi ports for multimonitor (32x9 widescreen) and 2 rear USB ports for a total of six. The PS3 has been stripped down since it was created, but that is like all Sony products. The PS2 suffered the same fate by losing certain things with hardware revisions.

I was gonna say the same thing about the Galaxy S2. 1GB of RAM is godlike, and is almost necessary to keep up with the ever-evolving mobile devices. My retard smart phone has 256MB, and it runs slower than a snail. This better be just a rumor or I say screw the Vita. I was pissed when the PS3 couldn't play music in game, and the 360 could. It's gonna be the same situation all over again. Last edited by Darkd10; 08-13-2011 at 04:26 PM. |
