Hello There!
I frequently read the forums for knowledge of something that i don't know yet.

When i find a good forum like this one, i prefer to read all the content before making a topic.
Making a topic for me its the last resource for me to archieve the information that im searching.

Well, lets go directly to the subject ok?


I have noticed that here contains exactly 22 topics about using another person save game on your ps3.
I already know that Final Fantasy XIII have a protection that don't let you use and save another one savegame.

And then i've made a research here on the forums..

Thats the first fact.

I already know that exists a software named PS3 Save Unlocker, and i've read the entire topic.
I've tried to do this, but when i try to transfer the usb file to my PS3 its says that the data is corrupt.


And lets go for another research...

Thats the second fact.


After searching again and again and read the entire topic i've discovered that if you transfer the save from FTP directly to the PS3 Folder, you won't get the corrupted file thing, allowing you to play without problems.

After all those information, would be easy for me to realize the process and stuff..but lets go to the main problem of everything:

I don't have a jailbreak or a cfw PS3 for use something like a FTP transfer!
Its a Slim 160GB Model 2150-A, with a 250GB HD
Official Firmware 3.70
and of course playing with a original blu-ray disc.

As everyone also know, theres a save file on gamefaqs with a brand new start with Max CP and Gil.
I really want to use that file, but i can't like i've said before.

So, lets go for the questions:

1. Theres any way for me, with a official firmware use that file? Or should i quit the extensive research over a lot of forums over the internet and waste a lot of hours farming cp and gil?
2. If theres no way for me to use that save file, theres also a way for me to edit my actual save file and put those values of gil and cp?
3. I've search a lot in the forums and didn't find nothing about it..theres any way for me with a official firmware use a ftp transfer? How i do it if its possible?
4. If none of those alternatives above don't work, theres any chance of someone here receive my save file and edit the cp and gil values with a cheating device that only people with cfw or jailbreak can use? I know theres a lot of cheating devices out there but i can't use one, for the reason that you all know.

Hi, i am sure ff13 is not locked? You can transfer it to your usb cant you? If so then thats fine.
I think those files your downloading are part files so they will show up corrupt. You have to replace those files with your save file. So then its assigned to your user name and other details that it requires.

REMEMBER to keep a back up of your original save files if your are modding them. Nothing worse than losing all your effort because you thought it would 'be alright' I know from experience.

Dont quote me on my answer tho as am not sure if thats it, its been a while since i was messing around will save files.

Well, i really don't know what you mean!
I can transfer via usb but when i try to transfer the new param.sfo using the PS3 Save thing i get the ps3 message that the file is corrupt!

Be patient. You only posted your original post 8hrs ago. Stamping your feet won't help, and remember that more people play modern warfare anyways. Plus the fact it's easier to cheat with so of course that will get more interest and replies.

Hey so I had a look at the pm you sent, Ive checked it out and ff13 is a difficult one, there is a save file editor out but it crashes every time i try to load a save. Its for 360 mind but it reads the .act file that i want to edit but as soon as i press anything else it crashes.

The only other option I can think of is hex editing the save file after using it in save unlocker program. But am not sure if this will work. Ill check it out mind but will need more time.

Also save files i messed about with were easy as copy over files with downloaded files or unlocked saves so you could just hex edit straight away.

EDIT:save unlocker just wont take the gamefaq sfo file to edit so thats a no go either. Next thing to try is a patch with jailbroken console/mfw console. I dont have the US game tho so i dont think its going to be that easy... i know i can edit the param to eur version , so after that ill try install a hacked patch thats floating around then save with max gill (doubt it will be unlimited as the patch would have to be applied on your console), change the param back to US version and all should be well.

If anyone else want to give this a crack happy days. Like i said might be 2 days before i get my console back(people in my house found out about the new showtime and tv stream). If not ill give it a try then

Here in my computer i can patch the files without problem.

oh no i can do that no problem. I just need to get my ps3 back and then i think ill be able to do it. You just got to wait, unless you have a mfw ps3?
