But i've read on the internet that i could do a software downgrade if my PS3 was on firmware 3.55 or lower when i bought it (which it does). My problem is that i can't do a software downgrade.

the only way u can downgrade is via a hardware flasher because u are on 4.0 ofw there is no software downgrader for you . if your ps3 was on 3.55 right now then u could do a software downgrader but as your not on 3.55 your on 4.0 hardware flasher is your only option .

if you read what u said u did on the net and listened to that, then why not listen to what we telling u here !! . hardware flash is what u need

im still some what confused..im so close of throwing my ps3 slim out the window...so i back up body counts so i copied, then go to app/game to open the ***** up then there goes that ****in message again error while game 80010017 wtf...

well there is 1 reason why u cant get that game to work and that is u cant play it on cfw its a 3.66 fw game m8 , check out http://www.pshomebrew.net/wiki/PS3_B...atibility_List u will see it cant be played , also there is usefull info for other games and what needs doing to other games and what games run discless or not

good info senior member??but that sucks.... so what would you suggest that i do then stay on .3.55 or update...i know in on the right page but its a pain in the ass??i connected my network connections and now when i play black ops its telling me to update but i dont want to, because im afraid it will mess up my jail break...ps3 are so difficult to deal with, with updates etc etc,
