linux installed...Need Help - PS3Hax Network

I finally installed Linux, went to the log in screen typed root then my password and then startmp then enter then startx and the screen went blank :( and i had to restart the ps3, i tryed switching them same thing happened :blink:

any one have any idera on what i should doo? :unsure:

Dunno? Bad install mebbe? You could try re-partitioning your drive and installing it again.

how do i doo that? format my HDD?

i think the problem i had with installing it was "partitioning type" stage idk one one to pick so i picked remove all linux partitons......... then partitioing stage i had no idea what todo?

You can always format it externally.

Hold down the power button for 10 seconds or so and format it via XMb.

I am not a YDL fan, more of a Fedora or Gentoo :/

I found the YDL install a little frustrating, having to jump around 'tween Sonys' and Terrasofts' websites, but it worked first try. You really cant screw up at the point where you have to choose the partition type, as they all produce the same result unless you have an existing OS install you wish to protect. My guess is your copy of YDL is corrupt, or it just didn't take first try. If you re-install YDL, at the partitioning stage choose "remove all linux partitions" and it will overwrite the previous install. If you get the same results a second time download YLD again (from another source) and start over.

I'm guessing that you used a regally TV when you installed it...? Did you changed the resolution setup ? If not here a link to it.

yes i am useing a SDTV

could i use my moniter from my pc? how do i hook it up to my ps3? would that be better than my SDTV :unsure:
