How to install REBUG 3.55.2

What you will need

1. ps3
2. usb stick formated to fat 32
3. official sony firmware 3.55
4. rebug 3.55.2
5. rebug update pkg 0.6
6. the ability to read

Part 1

Installing official firmware 3.55

(if your already on frimware 3.55 or your already on a cfw then skip to step 2)

Ok so your not on firmware 3.55, then you will need to download a official firmware 3.55.
This can be found here.

Now that you have downloaded the above pup, create a folder on your usb stick (fat 32)
called PS3. Then in that folder create another folder named UPDATE. Then Place your
update in there. So it should look like this.

X:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

Now update via recovery menu or the xmb. If you dont know how to access recovery menu
then here is a video.

Part 2

Installing Custom Firmware REBUG 3.55.2

(if your already on a cfw then it is up to you if you want to go back to ofw first before installing
REBUG, if you do then go back to step 1 if you dont then procede from here.)

Download REBUG 3.55.2 from the link below

Now your download will be in a rar file you must extract it. Then you will have a list of text links,
select 1, copy it into your browser and hit enter. You will now be taken to download the pup.

Once you have downloaded the REBUG 3.55.2 you must extract it. Once you have extracted the
pup file you will have to rename it.

Here is how it will look when after you have extracted it.

REBUG_3.55.2_PS3UPDAT.PUP

Now you must rename it to look like this

PS3UPDAT.PUP

Now create a folder on your usb stick called PS3 and inside of that folder create another folder called UPDATE.
Now put the PS3UPDAT.PUP in that folder. So now it should look like this

X:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

Install this thru the xmb or recovery menu

Part 3

Installing REBUG Selector & Update Package

First you need to install the REBUG selector. Go to package manager/install package files/ps3 hard disk
and install the rebug selector.

Next you will install the REBUG update package. This needs to be installed to fix a few bugs and update the spoof files.

You can download the update package from the link below

Now your download will be in a rar file, you must extract it. Then you will have a list of text links, select one
from the list, copy it into you browser and hit enter. You will now be taken to the page to download the pkg.

Once you have downloaded the pkg we need to put it on the root of your usb stick. So it should look like
this.

X:/Rebug_Update_Package_0.6.pkg

Now navigate to package manager in the game menu of the xmb. Next go to install package files. Then go
to standard package location. Click X and the pkg will install.

Now you will have a icon in the game menu called go into that and let it install. This might take a min or 2.
Let it do its thing and then your ps3 will reboot. It is now safe to delete the update pkg icon from the xmb.

After this is finished installing go back to pakage manager/install pkg files/hard drive then you will see REBUG
selector 1.6 install this.

Setting Up REBUG

Now in your xmb you will have a icon that says CEX/DEX. This how you set your mode. Example debug or retail mode.
(leave the cex/dex icon in the game menu so you can easily change back and forth)

When you first enter this you will be in retail mode. I suggest setting this to

MODE: REBUG
XMB: DEBUG
DEBUG MENU: 2

After you have set your mode to debug your ps3 will now be spoofed to version 4.00. Also in the ps3 settings
menu you will have a new options called debug settings. you can play around with these. I personally enable
Fake Save Data Owner so that you can use saves from another ps3 if you have them. You may set the mode however
you want. But if your not in debug mode then your ps3 firmware will show 3.55, So you have to be in debug to have it
spoofed. Now you can enable any of the settings to your liking. Down below are a couple of links to provide you with the
info on what everthing does. Also your compatability is about the same as kmeaw. I have yet to find a game that doesnt
run on rebug. Hope you enjoy.

in the last week i updated my ps3 to CFW rebug 3.55.2

everything seemed to be oke at first, but when i try to start a game with trophies the game returned with a black screen and error code:

800100505

.
i searched a couple of days for a fix, and found one on ps3Hax here: showthread.php?p=217218

do it this way: Download the latest standard (non-OtherOS) Rebug Download patch_lv1_for_rebug.tcl Download rebug_patch_privacy.tcl Download PS3MFW Builder 0.2 Use PS3MFW to build a new Rebug OtherOS++ MFW with SS services disabled: Put the patch_lv1_for_rebug.tcl and rebug_patch_privacy.tcl in the PS3MFW/tasks folder and delete the original privacy patch. Start PS3MFW and select the downloaded standard rebug pup as input, and select an output where you want it. Be sure nothing is selected, now select "Lv1 hypervisor patches for REBUG" and unselect "Allow access to all SS services (needed for ps3dm-utils" Next select "patch all self/sprx to secure privacy for rebug" build your MFW with only those 2 options enabled. Flash it to the ps3 and update it with the 0.2 patch. Now you have a correct working GameOS without trophy errors, with all the Rebug options and OtherOS++

i did just what me was told to do and it fixed the bug!

now you can do it your self or download my version already pre-patched for you(this is the version i used on my ps3 and word flawless)

This is not there. I only have Debug settings under XMB Settings

did you install the rebug selector under pkg manager /install pkg files/ hard drive?
