so i desided to install linux finaly
and of course i messed it up
i ran resize vflash (wich frees up 40 gig and i have only 40gig hard drive)
and now the ps3 asks to format but cant... so i am stuck
if i try to go in the ps3 safe mode.. by holding down the power button
it always goes into otheros??
so any idea how i can fix this??

I had this problem in the past. What I did was:

1. Turn the ps3 off
2. Hold down the power button until you get a second set of beeps

The ps3 boot sequence will now be back at the factory default.
