Why does a PS3 Linux (FreeBSD) user needs 3.70 keys? Linux (freeBSD) doesn't work any different with, or benefit from, a higher FW. Higher FW means new kernel. We are happy with the kernels we have now.

Don't have any time to test anything, but to my understanding is FreeBSD could only be used with telnet to have graphic support via another computer. With this driver the telnet isn't needed anymore and video output is by the normal video connectors now? But I don't think anyone besides a few devs has FreeBSD installed.

Did you just go out and buy that game? Yes? Then how are you a pirate just because you want a higher CFW to play that game? It just doesn't make sense. Piracy means that you downloaded a game. How has the definition now shifted to mean if you want a hacked machine to play a game even a bought one, you are now a pirate? Oh and before anyone says it, yes I've admitted to piracy. But and this is a big but, I pirate as a means to try out the game. If it's good I buy it, if it's not I don't and delete the game. But this isn't about me. It's about the general notion that if you want to play games on newer firmware your automatically a pirate. So that would means every person here who wants to play Resistance 3, UC3, or any other game that comes out, is now a pirate if they wanna play on CFW. Do you see how stupid that is? I understand people getting frustrated with idiots coming in here and saying "this release is worthless, I want CFW." But that doesn't mean you should partake in the stupidity by saying "anyone who wants to play newer games = pirates." Actually yes the 360 scene has accomplished just as much if not more then the PS3 scene. So has the regular Xbox scene. Or have you forgotten about JTAG, the reset glitch, and Ixtreme? Or all the homebrew and emulators?

People who wanted the keys in the first place (may have) wanted them because they want to backup the latest games without going through the financial burden of buying another gaming console.

Like one of the highly respected members within the PS3 Scene who goes by the name xPreatorianx (sometimes truncated to "Prea" (no offense)) said, a PS3 is a gaming console by default but it had additional features like OtherOS, in which it was "resurrected" by the dudes in the scene.

However, most people here find that Linux is only friendly towards a small amount of users within the gamers (illud est: it is only friendly towards the ultra-tech-savvy gamers who talk about Linux and "open-source software with religious fervour" (Matt Mason, an author of "The Pirate's Dilemma said this during a presentation in 2010 if I recall correctly) so hence not a lot of people will bother with this and therefore, they're only interested in the gaming side of things.

Going back on-topic, Gitbrew have done a great job with the RSX drivers! Well done! :D
