Need a starting price

I am going to offer my modified PS3 for sale...and I am trying to get a rough idea of where I should set the price...it is one-of-a-kind, so eBay isn't much help for pricing...here are the details:

-Has 4 temperature sensors: CELL (CPU), RSX (GPU), Northbridge chip, and intake air
-Uses readings from these 4 sensors to control fan speed.
-Displays all four readings plus fan speed on front display.
-Display is not visible when system is off; it appears there is nothing there until the system is turned on.
-Cell, RSX, and both heatsinks have been lapped and have fresh arctic silver 5 thermal compound.
-Memory and Northbridge both have upgraded cooling
-PS3 is model CECHH01, this is a "40GB" model with no PS2 game support and two USB ports.
-Hard disk has been upgraded to 500GB.
-System will ship with OFW 3.55 for legal reasons, but is easily upgraded to CFW/MFW.

Here is a GIF of the display in action:

Here is the article about the display mod, fan controller, and temperature sensors:

[edit]
Also, I added a special diagnostic port in the back...there is a small plug that comes out of the back of the system and goes into this port. By unplugging the small plug, you disconnect the display and fan controller, and you can then use this port for various testing applications as it contains all of the sensor signals, the control speed control wire, and the i2c communications connections from the thermal sensors inside the Cell and RSX.

[edit 2]
I will flash the display/fan controller with any of the four speed/noise combination firmwares before shipping, depending on customer need.

I wouldn't want to lowball you. I have the same model almost except mine was 80G. Mine dont have the other mods your have but to me it's still priceless. I would think you could get at least 1000 for it. How hard is it to sensor mod?

Considering the hardware mods done, hard drive upgrade, and its current firmware version, I wouldn't mind paying $325-350 for console only.

To do it right so that it is reliable, it is tricky, and it takes a very long time.

So...$300-$1000...that is a pretty big range so far. I might have to list it on ebay after all...

As much as anyone wants to pay i suppose.. If someone has had a few overheated PS3 they may desire it more then someone who never had that issue..(or seen someone with that issue)

Looks like alot of great work..

A ps3 now new is $250.. you have more HDD space with 500GB..
At 3.55 so is CFW ready (hard to put a price on that)
Overheating wont be an issue... Alot of work and great looking gauges that isnt on a very few ps3s..

I think $300 is a LOW ball..
$50 extra for all that ... hard to price for sure.... cant tell you a price, but i think $300 is low..

I'll probably just put it on ebay with a reserve of $580...that is how much cash I have into it not counting labor.

That's kinda depressing...if I can't get at least $800 for it, I can't afford my next project...not soon anyway. 3% to paypal and 9% to ebay doesn't help the numbers either.

I might just list it at $900 here and see if I get any takers.
