• Atari 2600 VCS
Emulator : Stella / Mednafen

Download Emulator:
*** Stella - PS3 Atari 2600 VCS
PS3 Developer: Robo Hobo

*** Mednafen Multi System Emulator (Stella Implemented)
PS3 Developer: Robo Hobo

Emulator Info - Portion of the README file from Stella 3.3

This is a light port of stella using the sdcell library. Only changes necessary for the PS3 were made to the source.
The interface is still a little rough around the edges.

Inputs:
Press R3 to toggle between ‘soft mouse’ and joystick mode.
In soft mouse mode, use the left stick to move the cursor, Cross to left click, and Square to Right click.
In joystick mode the gamepad acts as a standard SDL Joystick, with the exception that the L3 and R3 buttons are unavailable for use.
In soft mouse mode press L3 to toggle the on screen keyboard. As of this writing the osk in barely functional. While their state is tracked, the modifier keys have no effect on input.
USB keyboards and mice are supported. But are not thoroughly tested.

* lynxboot.img is required to play games (google), Place lynxboot in the following folder: (dev_hdd0/games/MDFN90002/USDIR/mednafen/lynxboot.img)

This is a port of the Mednafen Multi-System emulator to the Sony Play Station 3 using the open source PSL1GHT SDK.
It is currently based on mednafen version 0.9.16-wip

Features:
• File browser, place your games on a USB drive, or FTP them to the internal drive
• FTP client for loading games
• Load uncompressed or zip or 7zip images
• Load individual files from inside zip or 7zip archives
• Save States
• Fast forward
• Rewind
• IPS Patching
• Screen Shot (.png), Video (.mov), and Audio (.wav) recording
• Experimental netplay support
• 2xSAI, hq2x, hq3x plus other scalers

Use:

Secret Menu:
Press Start+Select in any menu
Choose 'Show Log' to display the contents of the global logger.
Choose 'Get New EBOOT' to choose a new EBOOT.BIN, this will be copied over '/dev_hdd0/game/MDFN90002/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN'
Make sure the new EBOOT is valid, and preferably signed
If you're careful, you can change the mednafen version without jailbreak

FTP

Set Up:
Press R3 to open the settings menu and select FTP client.
Set 'host' and 'port' to the address of the FTP server
Set 'username' and 'password' to the login of the FTP server
Set 'enable' to ON, then restart mednafen, an FTP option should be available on the first page.
Caveats:
FTP is an insecure protocol, any passwords will be sent plaintext across the network
The stored password is not masked in anyway and will be readable by anyone
I recommend setting up the server as read only with an anonymous login
The latest file is stored at /dev_hdd0/game/MDFN90002/USRDIR/temp.ftp
Attempting to access an unavailable server may delay the PS3 for over minute before the host lookup times out.
Attempting to load a large file may delay the PS3 while the file is transfered.
CD games will not work from FTP

Netplay
Netplay uses a client/server model as opposed to a peer-to-peer
Netplay requires the 'mednafen-server' package from http://sourceforge.net/projects/mednafen/files/

Set Up:
Press R3 to open the settings menu and select Netplay.
Set 'host' and 'port' to the address of the Netplay server
Set 'username' and 'password' to the login of the Netplay server
Set 'gameid' to the unique ID for the game (every player wanting to play together should use the same ID)
Is commands menu chose 'Connect Netplay' to connect to server
During Netplay press both R2 and R3 to disconnect from the server
Caveats:
Attempting to access an unavailable server may delay the PS3 for over minute before the host lookup times out.

Record Video and Record Audio:
Choose the option once to start recording, choose it a second time to end recording.
Enabling recording will slow down emulation, this will be fixed later (hopefully)
Output directory is the video and wave directories under /dev_hdd0/game/MDFN90002/USRDIR/mednafen/.
Video format is in a QuickTime .mov container.
Audio format is in MS .wav format.

Settings Menu:
Many settings will not take effect until mednafen is restarted
Use left and right to change settings value
Press Cross to use the on screen keyboard to set a value
Press Triangle to return a setting to it's default value

IPS Patching:
Place the patch in the same directory as the game
Name should be original file name + .ips For example Game.zip=Game.zip.ips Game.nes=Game.nes.ips
Be careful to assure the ROM is in the right format for the patch. Some formats have headers that can cause patches to not work.

In Game Buttons
R2 for fast forward
L2 for rewind (if enabled)
R3 to open commands menu

Ensure that the correct BIOS file is set in the settings menu
To load game select .cue file describing disc
Games can be in 'bin+cue', or iso with Ogg Vorbis audio tracks, MP3 tracks are not supported. (MusePak .mpc files may also be supported, but are not tested, so no guarantees.)

* New firmware update, mainly focused on improving PSP support.
* Improved compatibility with psp games. Some of the games that crashed early now run.
* Added support for PSP savedata. Please note that in the previous release, savedata worked for isos that were generated from psp minis games. However, those savedata are incompatible with this new firmware. You can see psp savedatas under the ps3 savedata section in the XMB, not under the minis one.

Future:
Better Settings Menu Layout
Better user interface
Improved Two player
Faster and better GBA support
Try to work around memory protection to allow PCSX-Reloaded recompiler core to run
Fix performance issues with recording video

FTP:

Netplay:

PCE CD Support:
Ensure that the correct BIOS file is set in the settings menu
To load game select .cue file describing disc
Games can be in 'bin+cue', or iso with Ogg Vorbis audio tracks, MP3 tracks are not supported. (MusePak .mpc files may also be supported, but are not tested, so no guarantees.)
Please ensure accurate file naming in .cue file, including file path, and file name case.

- On-Screen-Keyboard is not fully mapped yet. Some keys will register incorrectly, if at all.
- Actual Keyboard support not fully implemented, but good enough for the minute.
- Does not save settings / configuration

Source code to be made available pending some serious cleanup and refactoring.

Thanks go out to Squarepusher, Shinhalsafar, Cm0nkey, Airmaker for their hard work on the Snes9x PS3 port, and their cellFramework library. This work also incorporates their menu system and config UI. Also to the original VICE team for creating a solid and well maintained codebase to work with.

MAME PS3 Preview based on 0.142
# of Emulates Systems : 413

Installing
Install the psmame package onto your jailbroken PS3 using normal means.
By default all data paths for mame are located under /dev_hdd0/ROMS/mame_data.
ROMS themselves can be placed anywhere and their location chosen with the frontend. The recommended path is /dev_hdd0/ROMS/mame.

Default controls

As of right now the only defined controls are R3 to open the MAME config menu, Select for coin, and Start for starting the game.
Further control changes can be made in the MAME config menu as needed.
Up to four controllers can be used at one time.

Frontend
The frontend can display screenshots of games, these should be placed in /dev_hdd0/ROMS/mame_data/snaps. You can find a full set at progetto-SNAPS Snapshots
Paths:
Under /dev_hdd0/ROMS/mame_data
hash: path to hash files
samples: path to samplesets
artwork: path to artwork files
ctrlr: path to controller definitions
ini: path to ini files
font: path to font files
cheat: path to cheat files
crosshair: path to crosshair files
snaps: path to screenshots for frontend

Under /dev_hdd0/game/MAME90000/USRDIR/data
cfg: directory to save configurations
nvram: directory to save nvram contents,
memcard: directory to save memory card contents
inp: directory to save input device logs
sta: directory to save states
snap: directory to save screenshots
diff: directory to save hard drive image difference files
comments: directory to save debugger comments

Known issues
When adding ROMs into your ROM dir, you must tell the frontend to rescan them. This can be done in the R3 menu.
The display currently only supports scaling by pixel aspect ratio. Future versions will support various aspect correction modes.
Changing video settings in the menu may crash MAME, they don't work anyway so don't bother.
Games which require a recompiler will not run.
Games which have high memory requirements will not run, the PS3 only has a little of 220MB of RAM available.
The default controls will need to be tweaked by the user.

Emulator Info -Portion of README file in version 1.4

ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the game, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed!

Originally it was designed to run LucasArts' SCUMM games, such as Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle or Sam and Max. SCUMM stands for 'Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion', which was the first game for which LucasArts designed this system. And much later it gave its name to ScummVM ('VM' meaning Virtual Machine).

Over time support for a lot of non-SCUMM games has been added, and ScummVM now also supports many of Sierra's AGI and SCI games (such as King's Quest 1-6, Space Quest 1-5, ...), Discworld 1 and 2, Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2, Beneath A Steel Sky, Lure of the Temptress, Broken Sword I and II, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Gobliiins 1-3, The Legend of Kyrandia series, many of Humongous Entertainment's children's SCUMM games (including Freddi Fish and Putt Putt games) and many more. You can find a full list with details on which adventures are supported and how well on the compatibility page. ScummVM iscontinually improving, so check back often.

Control+C Quit emulator (Power Off).

Emulation Configuration Keys
Control+K Toggle between Dragon and CoCo keyboard layout. See Keyboard.
Control+A Cycle through cross-colour video modes (hi-res only).
Control+M Cycle through emulated machine types (resets machine).
Control+E Toggle DOS emulation on/off – reset to take effect.
Control+J Cycle through joystick emulation modes (None, Left, Right).
Control+Shift+J Swap joystick mapping (left/right).
Control+Z Enable keyboard translation mode.

F12 While held, the emulator will run at the maximum possible speed.
Control+U Create and copy from folders on USB for ROMS, CAS, DSK, BIOS, etc.

ROMS information
The emulator is distributed with some software for the Color Computer II, it is distributed with:
Dungeons of Daggorath, per the license below:
http://iloveglory.freehostia.com/daggorath/license.html
To find other ROMS, and to find BIOS files; search google for the phrase, they are REQUIRED to get
the emulator working:
“color computer” roms

PS3Roar creates a folder structure on a USB drive that does not already contain a “PS3Roar” directory, the structure is:

BIOS
CASSETTES
DISKS
images
ROMS
SNAPSHOTS

These folders correspond to the folders in the installed PS3roar directory on the HDD. Placing files on the USB Stick, then again inserting into the PS3 and pressing CONTROL+U once more will copy the files to the PS3. Once copied, the USB stick can be removed. Note: files are NEVER loaded from USB,

they must be on the internal HDD in the proper location. The CONTROL+U functionality makes this easy and removes the need to FTP files to the PS3

Notes
- You will need to unzip the rom files. They need to be .rom files, the emulator doesn’t deal with .zips
- You will need to get your own roms and (for now) place them in /dev_hdd0/game/PS3Roar00/USRDIR/ROMS/ to get the emulator

*** While in joystick mode the game pad will act as a typical joystick.
*** While in keyboard mode the game pad can be used to send key presses as well as re-map the button usage for mouse mode.
*** While in mouse mode the left stick can be used to move the mouse cursor and buttons can be used to send key presses mapped in keyboard mode.

On Screen Keyboard:

*** Use the left stick to move the cursor and select keys, press Cross to press the key.
*** To remap the keys, move the cursor into the upper-right corner and press Cross to toggle Mapping Mode, the button will be shaded green to indicate the mode is active.
*** Highlight any key on the keyboard and press the game pad button you wish to map to it, an image of the button will appear on the screen to indicate the change.
*** The changed mappings will be saved and reloaded on the next session.
*** The key mapping while the Fuse menu is open is fixed and may not be redefined.

During the menu

*** The following default controls are mapped while the menu is open, and currently can not be changed.
*** Dpad: Navigate
*** L1-R1: Page Up and Page Down
*** Cross: Select (Enter)
*** Circle: Cancel (Escape)
*** Square: Toggle (Space)
*** When attempting to change a setting, press Square to toggle it, pressing cross will save the settings and exit the menu.
*** In order to save your changes between sessions be sure to select ‘Save’ from the options menu.

Physical Keyboards

*** A USB keyboard (and mouse if needed) can be attached and used. However sdcell currently lacks key mappings for most keys not found on US keyboards.
*** If your keyboard has a key that produces no (or incorrect) input please leave an issue about the keyboard type and non-working key and they will be added in later versions.

Issues

There are still some performance bottlenecks. In testing cycle values above 10000 provided the most issues. Tweaking some values in dosbox-0.74.conf may help to improve performance.
There are still some usability issues with the on screen keyboard. If a lot of typing is necessary you may consider hooking up a physical one.
Using the fluidsynth midi synth requires a soundfont is sf2 format. Place the file on the PS3 and edit dosbox-0.74.conf to set the value ‘midiconfig’ to the full path to the file. It’s also necessary to change the ‘mididevice’ option to the value ‘synth’.
There is currently no PS3 optimized loader. The DOS commands needed to launch the game need to be type every time you start the app. You can reduce the typing by adding common lines to the dosbox config file’s autoexec section.

Using soft mouse and keyboard:

When loading the application PS3 game pad one begins in Mouse Mode. In mouse mode the left stick moves the cursor, Cross sends a left click, and Square sends a right click. Pressing L3 will turn on keyboard mode.

In keyboard mode, the left stick moves the cursor, pressing cross presses the highlighted key. When a key is highlighted and any button is pressed (other than Cross, Square, L3 and R3) that button will be mapped to the key, in mouse mode pressing the button will be the same as pressing the key on the keyboard. Press L3 to return to mouse mode. This is useful, for example, to map the DPad to the keyboards arrow keys.

In mouse mode, press R3 to enter joystick mode. In this mode the game pad acts as an SDL joystick.

Quick Guide
-------------------------------------

1.Prerequisites
• A homebrew enabled PlayStation 3 console. As of now that mostly means having a custom firmware installed.
• A USB flash stick.
• Some ROMs for the emulators
• Sorry, but you’re on your own when it comes to the ROMs.

2.Installing
• From a computer, download the installable package. It should be a .pkg file or in a compressed format(zip, rar, 7z).
if it is compressed extract the .pkg.
• Copy it to an USB drive.
• After having plugged the USB drive into your PS3, the package should appear in the XMB under the “Games > Install Package” menu.
• Installing it copies the emulator and its dependencies to your PS3′s hard drive.
• It also adds the “Games > PlayStation 3 > "Emulator name” XMB icon
• The icon is to be used to launch the emulator.
