Sorry if this is posted somewhere but i have looked and haven't found an exact instruction.

I have an original 20gb ps3 with a 300gb hard drive...I only use this ps3 for streaming movies. I am having issues with Cinavia protection.

I have never run any mods on my ps3 but would like to.

Could someone please either tell me or point me to a location that has step by step instructions on exactly what things i need to do to get this working .

I would like to mod my ps3 with cfw and be able to stream my movies bypassing cinavia..

yes there was a pkg that did bypass it ive used it and also showtime sometimes helps me to get movies working before i found the bypass pkg, although you have to be on 3.55 to install cfw to be able to preform this. if your on anything higher you will have to buy a flasher to downgrade.

once youve got cfw installed head over to rebugs site they made the pkg to disable it here http://rebug.me/?p=1227 this is only needed if you dont install there cfw and decide to go with someone elses like kmeaw kk

alright so i am basically screwed as i am on 3.61 i don't really understand how to downgrade and seems very involved........... anyone know of any other way to by pass the cinavia protection?

The only possible way is to downgrade bud.. sorry..

So do i need to buy something to downgrade? what options do i have in doing this? Do i have to be at the latest version of software or do i just stay at 3.61?

Hi mate your ps3 will have had to been on 3.55 or less in the past or you can't even downgrade with a flasher. If it was mate type in flasher into search bar to find info .

ya i did read your post that is why i asked if there was another way...i don't want to by some piece of hardware and take my ps3 apart...i was wondering if there was a way to downgrade with just software

as i stated in my first if your on anything higher then 3.55 you will have to buy a flasher to downgrade, if there was any other way i would of told you im not hideing anything, the links also inform you the only way to downgrade is by a flasher at this time sorry.
