You CANNOT execute the decrypted selfs/ELFs. Also I tried it (botting those selfs) and it didn't work.
The actual reason I provided the decrypted elfs is because we are very lucky because they are in RAW compiled format and they can be simply decompiled back to their source code using a tool that can decompile PPC64 ELFs. I think this is what Cobra did to find out what needs to get fixed to enable some stuff.

Somebody should dissasemble those elfs I posted (I am on OS X so possibilities doing it myself are, um you know...!).
Also PCSX2 team told me in a context that if I get a way to have the source code of these elf they would be able to start a work on them...

There's something more usefull you can do, follow what deank said here:

Of course when I launch multiMAN now it says 'unsupported firmware' because it is not kmeaw or anything it supports.

I added pokelv1/peeklv1 commands to mM's control console (telnet to port 8080) to make testing easier. Also a hidden "LV1 dump" function which allowed me to find some stuff in my HV memory.

So basically after I copied lv2_kernel.self to dev_flash I poked some stuff into HV and rebooted lv2.

I wonder if someone with dongle would try this (while using KMEAW 3.55) and see if it will work.

To get that specific file you don't need to install any firmware, lv2_kernel.self is at CORE_OS_PACAGE.pkg (Cobra FW .PUP)

Basically to unpack it you need to do this using Windows CMD (using latest ps3tools)...

Note: This example assumes that you have PS3UPDAT.PUP in 'c:\ps3tools\'

set HOME=c:\ps3tools
set PATH=c:\ps3tools
cd c:\ps3tools
pupunpack PS3UPDAT.PUP cobra355
Keep the CMD open, then go to 'cobra355' directory and using WinRAR extract contents of 'update_files.tar' to 'update_files', go back to CMD window and do this...

cd cobra355\update_files
unpkg CORE_OS_PACAGE.pkg CORE_OS_PACAGE
cd CORE_OS_PACAGE
cosunpkg content content_files
At the end if everything went fine, you will have all the files including 'lv2_kernel.self' at 'c:\ps3tools\cobra355\update_files\CORE_OS_PACAGE\content_files'

I was doing a few things at home, but now Imma start switching to KMEAW to try what Dean said

PS: Im assuming that the new files that Cobra changed are in CORE_OS_PACAGE.pkg but I might be wrong, maybe they are in 'CORE_OS_PACKAGE.pkg' I have to compare files with KMEAW ones to be sure.

EDIT: Some information regarding the files at CORE_OS_PACKAGE.pkg on Kmeaw and Cobra...

lv2_kernel.self (CORE_OS_PACKAGE, kmeaw)
MD5: 413B0666736E87929B346CA2B712284D

lv2_kernel.self (CORE_OS_PACKAGE, cobra)
MD5: 76721A21497F3EC6E6E8F10003D6FD3C

lv2_kernel.self (CORE_OS_PACAGE, cobra)
MD5: 3F9B56C2C79B1B82B13912EDDF7A5494

lv2_kernel.self (CORE_OS_PACKAGE, OFW 3.55)
MD5: BE1F3E74C85FAF93F6BE893D7EC75138
All of them are different, I will verify now the OFW 3.55 PUP to compare as well.

EDIT2: Update previous information with OFW 3.55 MD5 hash, so ALL of them are different, I wonder why Cobra changed that file in 2 different packages.

SeeYa!

Hahahahaha, believe me you are not the only one.
We are close, we can all finally feel it...!
I also feel that JFW had implemented the same/simmilar method to what we currently (try to) do and they had success in it after some investigation.
