Hi, Ive been using a 40GB Phat PS3 which has been jailbroken for almost a year now, Ive recently bought a 160gb Slim CECH 2503 which came with 3.50 OFW, so I installed Kmeaw on it.

I intend on going back to OFW on my old 40gb phat and keeping my new Slim for homebrew and backups, but I do want to transfer a couple of save game from my old PS3 to my new one. The new Slim has never been online and does not have any of the profiles that are on my old does. I tried using ColdReaders save game unlocker but I keep getting "the file is being used by another application", Ive also heard that even if it did work that success with this program is limited.

Is there a sure fire way I can transfer my saves over to my new PS3 and edit them to work with a different profile then they were created on ?, thanks in advance

yes you can copy them over but they might be locked. but you could always use rebug and enable fake save data owner. that will work.

Yes, you could do that but you can also use a hex editor and change the user information of the save data manually on a pc, then you could stay on kmeaw.

Is that a PKG I can just install or is it their firmware ?

I can use a Hex editor, is it just a matter of changing the profile name ?, and do I just have to hex edit the SFO ?

If you want to edit the sfo (shouldnt have to) use an sfo editor. There are quite a few of them available. Other then that, just use a hex editor (or a save data editor as I think there may be more then one of those floating around too) to edit the profile/user name/id of the save data itself.

EDIT: Or, you could just switch to rebug as stated above. Rebug is one of the best cfw's available as of now so there really arent many reasons not to try it... these are just options if you dont want to leave kmeaw for rebug.

Probably just being paranoid, my Slim PS3 is brand new and I felt like I was defusing a bomb when I put Kmeaw on it, and its only for 3 game saves.

If Rebug is my only option then Ill consider it

i know a way to get all your trophies unlocked exactly the same as on your first ps3 to your new ps3 & get all your saved games to work on it . but i would have to tell you how i did it. First thing i did was - a full backup of new ps3 .Then i created same exact user login name on new ps3 =also did the sign up to psn if you had a psn name like i did all the way up till you need to update .then i quit.

I installed everything the same on my new ps3 =duplicated everything installed !I installed all the same games i had on my first ps3 on 2nd new ps3 + retail patch updates everything the same .Then there will be folders created like your saved game date/trophy folders for all games etc .after you do this .Copy your home folder with comgenies AFM from 1st ps3 .Copy saved data folder to new ps3 ,home directory & trophy folders for each game .then delete saved games your new ps3 created , install your saved games from 1st ps3 to new ps3 . Then restart your ps3 & all you trophies & saved games will be there & unlocked + saved games will work. This may be complicated more than it looks ,but it worked 4 me.Every trophy folder i went through in home directory i deleted & copied my 1st ps3 folders to 1 at a time ..

If i left something out this is most of what i did ,to get you a idea. =This is how i unlocked all my trophies & got all my saved games+ game data on new ps3 . I am able to play my games with my 1st ps3 saves & continue unlocking trophies on 2nd ps3 without new ps3 noticing a difference... by the way if using a different profile name this dont work ,just thought i would trow this out there encase you did create the same profiles.

rebug is a lot more advanced then kmeaw. alot more options but if your interested then look in my signature for a tut.

Sorry for getting back so late, I just had a look at your guide, do I have to flash back to 3.55 OFW before installing rebug or can I just go straight from Kmeaw to Rebug ?
