Drive started making noises after PS1 Backups

First, I am not trying to BASH deank's work what-so-ever, but this happened to me...

I was playing a PS1 game today which I launched via multiMAN and after playing for 3 hours straight, my drive started making noises NON-STOP, I paused game and everything but it would still make violent noises...

Can anyone explain why this happens?

Well, stop the game and it will stop making noises. CD discs rotate faster sometimes and make noise.

A disc only has to be a Tiny bit off true and it will wobble like hell. It isn't quite the issue it used to be, but I only use decent branded discs that are more rigid (Verbatim are good in my experience)

An official Sony CD-R pack isn't ****

I figured the problem, don't use cheat discs like GameShark in combination with multiMAN, drive spins extremely fast...

i hate to break it to you but sony blank discs are crap when i was younger they use to just break in the most weird ways like the data layer on the back peeling off or they would just stop working for no reason. sense then i have not touched a sony disc. i highly doubt they got better as sony has a track record of getting worse over time. just because something has sony's name on it does not make it good, think of it this way if you polish a turd its still a turd
