It is a one party system...they both want the same things and the hardest part of any politician's job is to pretend that his stance is different from the other party. The fact is that the differences within each party are much larger than the differences between the two parties. Neither party wants freedom, neither party wants reform, neither party wants anything other than power, and they have gotten so cavalier about it that when there are minor differences in opinion, someone always blames the other of, "Not being bipartison".

1st off, excellent thread @Mr.Goodfrag !

Only problem I have with that statement is Colonialism always leads to theft....

"Hey, lets go steal some slaves from Africa so we can go to this "new land" and kill off the ALREADY inhabitants of that land so WE can call it, America."

The intentions were good but they, we became the one oppressing others.

I agree with ya there, @OoZic !

But now, America is at a cusp of entertaining Socialism and Communism. The youth here find those viable options.

Personally, I don't know about that. Utopia's are an individual thing. I'm not comfy with the government creating that for me. Capitalism allows you to become whatever you want on a fair basis.

Not when the government is owned by the rich who use it to prevent others from gaining wealth themselves.

I guess it depends on what one calls rich.

Here's an example:

Jay-Z, Rapper, Initially from the ghetto, Descendant from Slaves. = Made it, Loaded, Paid. I've never heard him say someone was holding him down.... and the odds were against him considering where he hails from.

Derrick Rose, Chicago Bull, Chicagoan-Englewood Community, Descendant from Slaves. I've never heard him say someone was holding him down and the odds were against him considering where he hails from. This, I personally know cause I'm from the same wretched community.

I could go on an on with folks I know who made it from the ghetto that became financial guru's, doctors, lawyers music legends. The overall attitude was, I gotta get mines. The "G" is ALWAYS gonna be a burden to deal with. I guess what I'm saying is I agree with what you're saying but there are different levels of being "rich" and you can't let that stop you from trying. I don't need the Buffet, Gates, Jobs (RIP) money. All I need is the opportunity (Education -traditional and/or street-, Hustle, Drive) to get that IF, I want it.

Having a big amount of money isn't the same as having economic power. Economic power is only for the elite, people from the street who win a lottery or do sports or even work very hard for their big amount of money with their hands will never be accepted by them.

I speak from experience

I agree.

I just think this all comes back to a "MAN/HUMAN" problem. There is ALWAYS gonna be someone who is driven by Power and want to oppress people with it. No matter what Ideology Flag they're under. At least you have chance to make life what you want under Capitalism. IMO

I have been born in the late '60's and grew up with a "one for all, all for one" minded society. A kind of mix between capitalism and socialism (Yin Yang again ). I miss this, it is only "all for one" now. Youngsters only learn the greed society and don't know better, but I do. All went wrong with the globalisation, people have no identity anymore with their country and the "one for all, all for one" thinking disappeared. To bad because only capitalism without responsibility isn't the solution

(I describe my Dutch situation, I know the US of A thought we were all communists here in these days )

Communism is an ideal that will never happen due to the fact that at heart we all want the most we can get.

Nothing wrong with either way, but Bob Geldof was a prime example of 'head up own arse' when he Demanded that everyone give money to Live Aid when he himself was actually using the pittance he donated (pittance in relation to what he had) as a tax dodge.......... Long Live the Arsehole!!!!!

What do US Corporations really pay in taxes? http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/27597.html

Too many people don't know and don't want to hear it. I applaud those people for protesting in what they believe in, I just don't agree with them. Even though most of the people there don't know why they are their themselves, other than to impose more communism on a Capitalist Republic.

How many know that 47% of Americans pay NO federal income taxes. With the overbearing federal taxes and regulation US companies face today, they are left with no choice but to cozy up to the political bureaucracy in order to survive. Both Republicans and Democrats are to blame for this mess. It's the Government creating these problems, yet it's the government that most people want to fix it.

Wake up America!
