i believe religion should not be meant as something that gives you someone to worship, so i think of religion more of a way to behave. Zen buddhism is probably something i have most in common with, but my education prevents me from being really zen. Italian people are catholics, and they get taught at school, so even if you do not believe, and want to have another religion, remains will be there.

religeon is a word, that is all.
the people who say what the specific religion entails are just that, people

religions are a vast array of the same basic principles and the text laid out is basically guidelines and standards set by those people in order to keep them on the right track. the catholic church still adds things to their rule book and changes parts at will.

it shouldnt matter what religion anybody is as long as they are peaceful and respectful of others.

as for myself, i dont believe in gods in the way the religions portray them. im more of a science believer.

my belief is that we are a bunch of atoms and even after death we still will be, just not in the same configuration. as for the human consciousness who knows but in a few years im sure we will all find out.

there is no need to spend a whole lifetime doing what we are told when we know ourselves what is right and wrong in our own minds. if its the only life we get, enjoy it responsibly

all religion boils down to this, be good, peaceful and respect others.
its just a shame people use these religions as an excuse to start their holy wars and commit crimes against humanity. im not singling out any religion in this respect, most if not all are guilty of this throughout history.

IMO the world would be a better place without religion but then again thats just my opinion

Born and raised Buddhist.
I recognize that historically many scientists are also people of religion.
Religion and Science are separate things.
Confusing them is misleading and insulting to everyone.

Religion has an inner-satisfaction that science does not provide. Religion is an escape from this world, similar to music. Many religious people don't like science because it reminds them of the "real world." For some, religion frees the mind and relieves stress. I myself am not too religious however, I don't fancy science that much either.

Everybody on this Earth - I don't care who you are - in the end wants to be happy. People have found ways to be happy and religion is just one of them while science is another.

Religion may be a cash grab but so is science. This whole world is a cash grab.

So be it. Just do what makes you happy!

Honestly, @manster your post looks like the beginning of a flame war and I don't want one of those sparking off.

Just saying.

All i will say, is that everyone has the right to their own beliefs, everyone is entitled to their opinion and as long as everyone acts like adults and converse in a mature manner, the thread will stay open, any flaming or insulting will result in an infraction.

I have no religion what so ever.

I think they are all silly, and to be fair... Religions are the BIGGEST reason for wars and terrorism.
Thousands of people every year kill each other in the name of Religion... Stupid.

I refuse to accept anything unless its proven, or classed as 'Physics'. lol

PS. Buddism is probably the only religion I have respect for.

Dude what did Greg just say. You just insulted me and everyone else.
Yeh everyone has hate for something or someone but really is it worth to say it if it'll start a fight no. Your entitled to your own opinion but don't go Generalize and say Religion is the main cause. Wars are not only started from religion e.g wealth, power

Can you really call a denomination 'Christian' that doesn't even follow their own book? Just curious. I think this is what causes the most confusion.
