?? No it wont. It will recongnize the hard drive and auto format. Trust me i work on these all day.

the 3.5 or 2.5 both use standard connectors, the ps3 doesnt use P/ata.
any 3.5 inch sata cable will work, along with any sata power cable. but did you even try what i suggested a few pages back? That will almost definately fix it.
If you're too scared to open ur PC go out to a shop and buy a 2.5 inc SATA laptop HDD, any size. Plug it in to your ps3 by using the method someone posted before. Then it will say "the drive needs to be formatted". Say OK

and wait.
This has been posted so many times now it's unbelievable, i am starting to doubt that you have even tried the solutions we posted.
