Hello everyone.
I have my new Dongle (OpenKubus) just set up withe psGroove. But I hesitate to use it.

I know that offline usage is safe, since sony cant see what i am doing. but when I want to go online with my disk-games, will sony see weather or not my console is at development mode?
I know the proxy bypass probably won't work forever (like seen when they removed other-OS) and then my question is pointless, but for now, once I plugged in the dongle, installed the backup manager, backed up one or two games, played them (all offline), how can I safely use the PSN again? will a format of the hdd do it for me? where is the backupmanager stored anyway? Or is the dev mode enabled forever?

Another thing, can i store backuped games at a external hdd?

I know we have to wait untill the first psjailbreak banwave hit us, to be 100% sure, but what do coders say?

offline usage of the mod is not safe ofline... its safer, meaning if your machine takes logs of what you use, then when you go online the logs will be sent to sony, best option is, two hdd's one for online other for offline, then even if the machines takes logs you will just switch the hdd its like it was never there.

i am simply not going online at all on either ps3 until a safe way to update is found.
i will then use my slim online but no homebrew at all, not even backup manager.
it will simply be a backup in case my fat gets ylod

well, i just formated a new ps3 hdd (going to be the offline one). how does the Ps3 know the firmware? it told me to put on a fw 3.41 or newer...switching seems difficult then, since i want the online hdd up to date...and wehn switching hdds with different fw, the hhd with older fw won't be recognized

once you install a firmware you can not go back yet. it always remembers the latest one you had installed.

just hope for patched firmware or use bypass methods.

No mathielh didn't say anything about it as far as i know, it was and idea from the user here in the forum
put both 3.41 and use the proxy methood to go online wit your legit one.

@ japsander, well i had a confirmation from a member on the other thread we were discussing it.

as far as i know, basic stuff like, mac address, time, country, language etc.
the logs that get sent so sony are on the hard drive itself.
