maybe its time to make the banner at the top bigger, maybe just make it half the size of the site and then maybe some might notice it lol or maybe even have a follow up page after sign up linking them to the banner tuts page telling them to read before even trying to post first.

Exactly my point @jp_cfc09 . Your example was perfect, a lot of the regulars who have been around for awhile would frown upon a post like that. When in reality, they could simply not reply to it and save the flame fest for the other scene sites. There are people who don't mind answering the "dumb" questions for others... and at some point will grow tired of it like many others have. When that happens, those who they helped with the "dumb" questions are usually a little more educated, and will be answering the new "dumb" questions XD It's a rather complex cycle, isn't it.... haha , but at least it would eliminate a lot of the *****ing and moaning going on in the community

This topic was incorrectly titled anyway. The idea wasn't an IQ test based on intelligence rather a preliminary quiz designed to inform the users before they engage in forum activities.

The driving test is designed to see if you have enough knowledge to use the road effectively (in Aus), I don't see why a preliminary test or even just a PM to all new users will suffice in the same manner.
