Hi guys, a new Guy here.

I am thinking about jailbreaking my brothers ps3 on 3.15 firmware. Can anyone tell me what the best option to do is, I was thinking of upgrading to 3.55 ofw then jailbreak using geohots jailbreak. In need of a little guidence, thanks!

i would say that 3.55 kmeaw is better than geohots mate thats what im running

and the link that carldenning gave is what you want to follow mate

Thanks, but is there any way I can jailbreak and yet keep the other is option, in other words is the kmeaw jb the best thing to do?

Kmeaw 3.55 cfw and Rebug 3.55.2 are the best ones out there. You will not have any problems at all

Hi, after a long hard think, i have decided i am gonna go for it, just 2 questions:

1. if there is a game whch requires an update, do i have to patch it myself or can i find patched versions

2. How do i transfer games via rather than ftp as i don't really feel comfortable using ftp

1. There are many games that require you to install a patch to play them on your 3.55 cfw. If you do download games, you can get them already pre-patched. Patching a game is as simple as dropping 1 or 2 files in the folder the game is located in.

2. You can transfer games using an external hard drive or you can rent/borrow games and copy them yourself from your PS3.

Thanks a lot lethal nfs, would you be able to direct me to the area of pre patched games?

and are you aware of any guides to transfer games?, i remember reading you can transfer them on a usb however files over 4gb would have to be split, but i am not too sure,

any extra help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks again!!

No, pointing to pre-patched games are a violation of the forums rules as it would be considered piracy, although we can direct you to the collection of eboot fixes and not the game.
