Where to start?

I have a Slimline Silver PS2, never been hacked before. How can I mod it? I would rather something that doesnt require soldering, I also don't mind paying for anything I need.

1 old is the fat ones with the fans and 2 not with the swap trick.
If you want to play ps2 games from hdd buy an old fat one or buy a ps3 60gb which has ps2 compatibility and then mod it on 3.55 kmeaw cfw.

There are many ways to soft mod a ps2 with FMCB. If you have a code breaker disc or one of various ps2 game discs (007 Agent Under Fire is the easiest) you can easily block the sensors on the slim to allow you to hot swap a regular ps2 game with either code breaker, or a modded backup of various games (007, etc) that will allow you to launch the FMCB installer.

If you need more help, there are tons of forums out there that have step-by-steps (afterdawn.com has loads on info on ps2 soft modding, and sksapps.com has almost any file you would need)

I'd recommend putting the exploit (FMCB) on multiple memory cards though, since ps2 mem cards can corrupt very easily. Once you get it on one, just use uLaunchElf to launch the FMCB install again, and install it to a different memory card.

If you need more help, any files, etc just let me know. I have probably every single elf from back in the ps2 days on my other pc.

So none of the above will work on a Slimline PS2 then? That sucks, well I only wanted to look because I found an old PS2 I am not really bothered about it just thought it would be good to keep for the future, Thanks anyways though people.

You can mod a PS2, I just explained how in my previous post. It takes about 10 min from the time you open up the case, to the time FMCB is installed to a memory card and you have the capability of executing backups from disc.

Look into what I posted previously, when you get FMCB installed, you will use ESR to launch your backups which should be burnt to decent blank media discs at no more than 2x to avoid issues.

Edit: Oh yeah, and don't forget to patch the ps2 iso images with ESR Disc Patcher Utility prior to ripping them to DVD or they wont load.

Sorry I did not see you had replied, I have just found a copy of 007 Agent Under Fire on ebay, so if I order this and follow the guide my Slim will be softmodded right? And as long as I patch the ISO Images it will all work fine? It wont matter what Slim I have?
