Solderless modchip?
Does such a thing exist for the PS2? I don't have anything to soft mod my PS2 with, (I do have an HDD adaptor in there, but that's about it), and I don't know anyone that has anything to help me softmod it, so I was thinking about getting a solderless modchip, but haven't been able to find anything as of yet...

If it is an old model that supports a HDD adapter, then you can just use a memory card...very easy to mod.

I have no way of putting anything onto the memory card--No gameshark or codebreaker or any of that stuff. I only have an HDD in the PS2, and that's it.

Then you could possibly use the game swap trick to run uLe from a modded backup of a game that you already have and install FMCB from there...

Yeah, or post a memory card to someone that already has a modded one and they can convert yours. I'd do it for you and I'm sure others that might live closer would too. The choice is yours though!

Swap trick is a hot swap I'm assuming, and judging from the guide. So I did everything the guide said, however when I select what it tells me to, black screen for a good 10 seconds, and then 'Insert PS2 format disc'.
The game I tried this with is 007 From Russia with Love. Tried it with a DVD-R and a DVD+R, no luck. PS2 is fat SCPH-39001. RSOD. Doing some more research, I'm trying Rachet & Clank: Up your Arsenal. -- RSOD again. Purchased James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire.... Last edited by Irixion; 10-22-2011 at 08:03 PM. |

Mistawes is right somebody probably would do up a memory card for you. or you could buy an AR Max, i bought one off play.com link and it got me up and running with fmcb, and once you are done with the ar it you could probably sell it on

if you want to buy anything get swapmagic. it is the simplest and quickest way to install FMCB to a mem card.
I would do it for you but i am in australia..lol i used to do free installs but it looks like i have been banned from PSX-SCENE and no idea why... logged off one night then cant log in looks like an ip ban.... no explanation ... who cares...lol |
