Why in the world would you want to download a torrent on your PS3 ? Are you honestly kidding me ? I mean only SONY & their whole network calls to your PS3 & you want to give them a invitation to a open line & were & what you are downloading + IP addresses you are connected to = A log of your activities get sent back to them & then they will probable put your IP address in a special place along with others ! Dont be a fool stay in school ,JK !

i can download torrents on iphone -.- anyway install linux on ur ps3 and download torrents

Software based I'm pretty sure there isn't an app out there that can accomplish what you want. Maybe with OtherOS, and then installing a torrent client that might work. BUT I might know a solution for you.
There's a site called torrific that will like get the file for you and then give you a download link from their servers for you to download it. Don't know if the PS3 browser will work with it. It's called torrific.com

 There is a browser based way to do it, but once it got popular they all started charging monthly subscription fees. >paying to pirate
