can't read blue ray discs - PS3Hax Network

hi. please help. my ps3 suddenly doesn't read blue ray discs. its reading all other types of discs but doesn't read the blue ray discs. what seems to be the problem?

your BD laser is broken, you must replace it

As above, needs a new laser. Be aware though that all KEM-400 lasers are just refurbs as they do not manufacture them any more. Only the dual lens KEM-410 and slim PS3 lasers can actually be bought new.

Even if you see a KEM-400 laser advertised as new it won't be, it's either taken from a dead console or it's a refurb. Some refurbs have been known to last as little as 30 mins, so if your PS3 uses a KEM-400 be careful where you buy from. eBay is usually a no-go.

thanks guys. i got 1 more problem. i can't load my new games. i dont know if it had to do with me updating my multiman to the latest version (2.09 during that time). did i miss something? all i can paly are the old games i used to play. all of them are stored in the internal hard drive. it loads my game from multiman, but when i run it from apps_home all i get is a black screen and the system starts to hang. no buttons are working, i can't even turn it off. so i end up unplugging the ps3. i also tried copying the game to the internal disk and load from there but still the same happens. before i can even run a game from an external hard disk.

You may thinking of replacing another new laser from online store.

Make sure your new games are set to "direct boot" and "internal" in the game options in multiMAN.
