this is why you don't release homebrew a MONTH before the console/handheld even launches...all you did was give sony a month's head-start on patching it before we even left the gate!!!

I swear, devs are getting more & more stupid about their releases every single day!!!

Implying that sony didn't already plan to change the keys after gaining interest in the product, its all planned they were only using the old keys while testing with plans to change them at release, hence the mandatory update on day 1 to enable things like PSN etc

Exactly, why publicly announce you have hacked the console before the release date?! I would be surprised if people would have thought $ony would not have changed it before release, no-one in their right might would release a new product knowing it was already hackable.

So really by announcing the bug the hackers who released the info were technically helping $ony, to warn them before they released.
tbh I wouldnt put it past $ony to have leaked the info on the bug in order to spread the news, then all those who they screwed thinking they would get their own back by buying the console to pirate, only to find it was updated before released.

Either way I doubt the sales will be as high as $ony are hoping they will be. I know I wont be buying one; was thinking of getting on after it was hacked but then someone in another thread wrote they'll be getting a 2nd hand one, pay the original leaser rather than doubling $ony's intakes from console sales.
So that's what I may do, buy a 2nd hand one after it gets hacked in a few years. Dont know why though, I have a psp and never play on it :P

thats what happens when youre an attention whore. If You, SKFU had kept your mouth shut probably SONY would update it anyways...but now, i can always ***** about you.

If a ps3 4.0 can unpack em, then am betting math will make his reappearanceon the vita scene

why would any company take the risk of leaving the keys as they were.
it makes perfect sense to lock it down as a precaution. i mean come on, how long have units been out there for devs etc? obviously they should be worried.

dont blame the devs for sony making a logical decision.

I was hoping that Sony's next handheld will be able to play PS3 games or that their new tablet, but I was wrong.

Handheld market is dead.
