They do, but since the slims and the recession they were able to negotiate better deals and start making money on console sales as well.
But the truth about pirates which they dont want the general public to know is that pirates actually spend more money on games, movies and musc that anyone else! Yes they pirate more, but they end up buying the ones they like. If they didnt pirate it they wouldnt have bought an original copy for themselves. So hack a console and they'll sell more consoles, yes piracy will increase, but then the pirates will buy more games for it as well. Dont hack it, they wont buy the console or the games.
