do you see something usable there ? that's the site where i downloaded the 2 drivers

I think that it is possible that the network card is not working at all, because when i connect an ethernet cable to it no lights are blinking, but then it confuses me, if it is not working then my PC wouldn't recognise it ? :S
The only one that looks like it might be compatible is the 3rd one from the top, the windows NT one.

Tried it now, when going from device manager and browsing to it than it can't, but unlike the other 2 that i downloaded before, when i go to this on the inf file right click and then install it doesn't give me the error like with them, but nothing else happens .....

restart the computer might help. The files have been set in place but the drivers are not fully installed/initiated until a restart I think.

Ok, i did it, after the pc started a window opened telling me something about the driver, and that i should download it, and it gave me a download button, i clicked it and it opened this page http://devid.drp.su/?l=en&down=updat...01148%26REV_10

now i downloaded it, and again there are the driver files without a setup file, can't install over device manager, and can't install over the inf file :/

Hmm just took a look and those seem to be drivers for windows xp and windows server 2003. Hmm that driver popup might not be from windows but from a 3rd party software. Hmm so in the device manager the device isn't installed? has a yellow triangle??? maybe the card isn't supported...or find drivers is real hard just like back in the windows xp days...lol. I think you will be better off download the drivers for the integrated NIC. get the official drivers from the official website, that NIC definately has 1000Mbps/1Gbps capabilities.

Hey look at this, when i run speccy (system analysis tool) and go to network it says this : Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet

GIGABIT ?? why am i then limited to just 100 Mb/s
************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
I just checked, i have to other PC-s with the same integrated network card as mine, but they too do just have 100 Mb/s and not 1000 :/
************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
I have just downloaded the drivers for the broadcom card and updated them over device manager, it was succesfull but still i don't have a 1000 Mb duplex option :S

Hmm last thing I can do is go back to the beginning....
Is the PS3 set to 1000???
Then when PS3 is set to 1000 check to see if 1000Mbps or 1.0Gbps is available.

There is also a link for troubleshooting that network adapter:
http://www.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~brecht/s...UG/trouble.htm

try downloading their broadcom advanced controll suite.

as for drivers if you need them (for the NetXtreme):
32 bit: http://www.broadcom.com/support/license.php?file=570x/win_vista_2k8_32-14.8.0.5a.zip

64 bit: http://www.broadcom.com/support/license.php?file=570x/win_vista_2k8_x64-14.8.0.5a.zip

That's the driver that i installed before, and i am right now downloading the control suite, will post here when finished

@TizzyT

the tool shows just the information that are currently in use, gives some basic tests and that's all .....

I found this on broadcoms website but i don't know what exactly they mean by this xD

" Why is there no option to force the speed and duplex to 1000Mb/s - Full Duplex?
Per the IEEE standard, the only IEEE compliant way to operate at 1000Mb/s-Full duplex is through auto-negotiation. If the network switch being used is IEEE compliant, the link speed will auto-negotiate to 1000Mb/s-Full duplex when autoneg is selected."

I thought that maybe it's because of the ethernet cable, because here you can just buy cheap ones, and the quallity may be bad and because of that i couldn't get 1000 Mb/s, but then when i disconnect the cable from my PC the 1000 Mb/s option should appear, but it's not ....
************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
I did the "Cable analysis" with the tool, it says that 2 cable pairs are good and 2 short :/ idk what that means

Tried it with another cable then it says 2 pairs good and 2 pairs open ....

It seems that my cable is limiting the speed, because when i plug it in, there stands "Link" 100 Mbps, when i disconnect the cable nothing is there, will try tommorow to buy some better expensive cable and test it
