It's not the same because that was endorsed by Sony, not some unorthodox'd method like this that doesn't even seem to work.

So why don't you take advantage of Sony's mistake in letting their private keys getting leaked as an excuse to get free games. And yes, this is making you a pirate. Like me and many others.

I'm just saying there should be no exception to the rule.

So what about if you were going to make the purchase and it said you had it already, would you havethem ring up Sony and offer to pay @Annelies ?

You are not illegally obtaining anything. Its the same as when a bank over pays you and when you query it they say its legit or a shop puts the wrong price on an item. They are still obliged to sell it you for that cost otherwise its false advertising.

If Sony say you have it then its their fault, not yours. You go through the correct process and they give it to you.

Not in a court of law.

You have used information on how to bypass the normal purchase sytem and by using certain methods have obtained a copy of a game you have not paid for.

Maynot be piracy but certainly is theft.

Its like walking into a shop picking up a game with intent to pay and 5 minutes later walking out without paying because you forgot it was in your hand.

You may think it a simple mistake but the shop and law will not accept mistakes and you have shop lifted.

You are assuming that the mistake would be on my end when it is not.
If you pick up a game for £40 and the till scan says free then you get it for free. They cannot chase you down the street for stealing it as you were given it free of charge

If I download a trial and then decide that I want to buy it, cancel then go to purchase it. If it comes out as free then the onus is on them to rectify it before the transaction is made.

How can you purchase something that has no cost? It may be a loophole but it is most certainly not illegal. Gamesharing follows the same principle. You are not permitted by Sony to gameshare but it is not illegal to give it to someone else so they do not have to pay.

It expired on me last night.. then Sony deleted it out of my downloads.. If you go into it now the only option is to buy full game.. It says nothing about already purchased
