If they had developed the game on the PS3, they would have tested it on the PS3. If they had tested it on the PS3 they would have done something about these problems before release. But they developed on the 360 and tested on the 360...so you can't get half way through the game without massive problems when playing on the PS3. A technical breakdown of what they failed to fix while porting to the PS3 does not change the fact that the problem is a result of porting from another platform that is designed in a different way.

They guy basically said that the game loads a bunch of crap that it doesn't need into memory for no reason...this would have been fixed if it had been tested on PS3 before release...and it clearly wasn't. I got this game at release and was having frequent crashes before I even made it to Vegas for the first time. There is no way that this game was bug tested on the PS3 before release.

Would a faster PS3 HDD help with Skyrim issues?

So if some of the lag is coming from save files or loading a ton of crap constantly from the HDD, wouldn't upgrading the PS3 HDD to a larger & faster internal HDD help a lot? Lemme know what you think, I may do this...

I have found that deleting Fallout 3 and New Vegas saves so that there are 5 saves on a given user name substantially reduces the glitches associated with the game. I wasn't sure if it was a fluke until my son was having problems with his profile, I had him delete his saves and to pick the top 5 that he wanted and now his game runs a lot smoother. I have a couple profiles and cleaning the saves helped all of them in the end. A couple hours in, the game still will freeze randomly though

Sony released a PSP with the double RAM as the first models...
I wonder after those stuff if they would do the same on PS3...

Sometimes I feel like the only reason people never saw PS2 emulation on later models (40GB/Slims) is because of the small RAM PS3 has. Most of the games have an issue just with FPS and I constantly get the feel that it's only because of RAM... Such a pitty really...

I might have to spend a couple hours deleting saves...since the PS3 won't let me bulk erase my hundreds of saves for each game.

What really gets me is the randomness of some of the problems. Just yesterday I was playing fallout 3...it crashed less than a minute after I started playing; locked the PS3 up hard...so I loaded and about 10 minutes later the graphics go all crazy and then the game crashes again...this time I could exit the game. So I start it up one more time and it plays fine for hours on end! All of these tries were starting from the same gamesave!

That might help, but I know I wouldn't buy another PS3. I wouldn't want a PS3 without CFW, I wouldn't want to give Sony money, and I honestly think I would get better performance by putting a $200 video card into my old PC anyway.

Im really dissapointed of this war generation of consoles. they sold us a very expensive piece of hardward just for like 10 exclusive titles per console. Most of us here owns xbox 360 and ps3 also pc, I rather play on my pc, but when a exclusive titles for consoles comes I have to use it, but that's very weird, regardless of the fail hardware, xbox 360 and ps3 NEEDS to fight to get a exclusive title and make us think, "THIS IS WHY I BOUGHT YOU" I used to say that on my psx and ps2, now I just say "WHY I BOUGHT YOU !?"
for me, both consoles failed. oh and my little nephew says: wii wins :D ( don't worry guys I already slap him )
EDIT : it's sad seeing fanboys fights for hardware and not for titles, like before.

To all the ps3 and xbox fanbabies, consoles are over-rated I'm dead serious. hell i can build a pc for 300$ that can blow them out of the water for gaming

Anyways Bethesda makes PC games(they started out as PC devs, now they POSE as console devs) so IMO both XBOX and PS get boned every time they release a game, but what do you expect from what truly is a PC game developed for under-powered, out dated systems. Skyrim proves it is time for the next generation of consoles

that's unfair. those consoles were built around 2004 and 2005, it's been long time and they still kick ass, and for a pc, you have to upgrade it every 6 months.

You actually don't have to upgrade nearly that often...the recommended specs for Skyrim are about 3 years old...the minimum specs are even older...and as we can tell from all this, the PS3 is below the minimum specs for this game.

lol sorry but sub 30 fps and bland textures does not kick ass. also with PC you do not have to upgrade every 6 months, but you see the beauty of it is you CAN. also way to go quoting me in the middle of my edit

well put KillerBug, hehe my 3 year old PC that collects dust could pull 45+FPS on high no problem and that one only ran me about 500$ ....less than a launch ps3 lol
