I was put off by the lack of removable battery. This only gave more incentive to stay away.

My issue with the fact that certain games need a memory card is on of technology. If the game cart can save on it (which some do, some don't), then all games should save onto the cart. The technology allows for it, so why are some games ignoring this bit of tech. Those that say about memory cards for the PSP, that's easy as you can't write data onto a UMD, and on the Xbox and PS3, the discs or READ ONLY.

I hate when company's intentionally ignore what a bit of tech can do, to make more money.

Indeed i am put off by this price for a mere memory card. I will now hold off from buying the PS Vita at launch.

Btw cant anyone simply copy the cards and produce them at a cheaper price ?

I know it will depend on the install base but still does sony have some special tech that cant copied or be read by the PS Vita.

@ Sony. What are you doing ?

I do not get all this moaning, you would need to buy one anyway if you wanted to do more than game on the console. Now just because some games will require it, a lot of people have started pissing on the whole idea of a memory card.... Would you rather it be a fixed amount of internal storage?

I do not like that they are so expensive, yes, but why take a piss on the whole idea when you are using pretty much the same concept in your PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and PSP? Sure it is a proprietary medium, but it is upgradeable. This is in more ways than one similar to the 360 HDD. Microsoft holds a near monopoly on 360 HDD's. This is basically the PSV's upgradeable HDD. This is not a memory card only meant for save games people.

Well, I think the fact why people are getting outraged is that the advertisement of the Vita is more than crap.
If they directly said that u'll need a MC and put one in every vita as a bundle and said, the price will be 280€, nobody would have a complaint about it.
Of course these MCs are stupidly high priced but isn't this sony? sony is always high priced!

And for those pirates:

The PS3 was the longest unbroken Console on the market. Why? In my opinion, it was because of the "openess" of the PS3 (with OtherOS etc). As soon as they locked out these features, hackers started working more and more. This is how the psyche of people work. If you prohibit someone to do something they get more interested in doing it.

Well, this is my oppinion.

The hard drive for the 360 is a scam too...but it is not required just to save the game. I think the average user would prefer a fixed amount of internal storage if it is required just to save. Upgradable memory would be nice...but only if it was upgradable to something good; you can't even get a 64GB card!

Well, take a look at the 360 HDDs and how microcrap has slowly upgraded their storage space. Then also take a look at the MSPD. When the PSP just came out, the storage options on it were low, and expensive to high heaven. With time, they will increase the storage amount, no doubt about it.
