Yes, that is true.

I think the only way they'd negotiate with us is if they weren't that much ahead than we are in technology, but by simply finding our planet and traveling here, they'd have already proven their technology is millenniums ahead of ours.

I like using ants as an example so I will continue to do so; do you ever go outside and negotiate with ants? Do you ever reason with them, or trade? I doubt it. We are probably like ants to them. We serve as no true benefit, and don't negatively impact them too much, and if we start to annoy them, they'd just destroy us, the same way we destroy ants when they enter our homes.

Of course there could be aliens that are nice and stuff, I am all for that outcome, sure. Anything is possible, I truly believe that. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Lots of interesting opinions, I like threads like this just 'cause they give me something worth reading besides reports about wannabe devs and their twitter activity.

I believe in aliens. I have no proof they exist or don't exist, it doesn't even matter. The universe is endless (or so they say) so if Earth is the only populated planet out there and if we're really all alone then it's really a waste of space. Also, the thought of humans (such as they are today) being the most advanced lifeforms in the universe is really, REALLY depressing.

I believe they're out there and I sure hope they've suffered the "child diseases" mankind is suffering today. We've come a long way but we have a long way left to go, we're still the same savages like we were millions of years ago, we just replaced stones with guns, spears with cellphones, we have less hair and we smell better. Everything else is the same. So before the point I was trying to make is gone completely - I believe they're out there and they're watching us. Watching us and just waiting for us to finally break away from our savage roots and evolve into truly superior beings or destroy ourselves and our home along the way.

So next time you're looking at a starry night sky above your head and wondering "what if...", keep in mind you're looking into infinity. Infinity of chances, infinity of possibilities that somewhere out there somebody else is staring back at you, thinking the exact same thing. By the way, I'll use this opportunity to recommend Contact to everybody out there that finds this subject interesting and haven't seen it, it's a very interesting movie.

ok look at this way . if you was from another planet which had no crime etc , perfect harmory . and came to earth and knew way to get people from earth to you planet easy . with the risk of corrupting your planet to the way ours is with crime , drugs etc , would u say look im from his come and kill our planet or keep quite , i know i keep quite .

eg lets say we went to a planet and which was worse than us and there every body can kill some some one for any reason and do what they want . would u reallu want them to come here and do what they want and do what they was born to do normal . nope i wouldnt , this is how i see if there was ,

I agree with you. I don't want them(if they do exist) coming to our planet and slaughter every mankind for the sake of our resources. Or if they're just plain kind beings and gave us the technology to explore the universe freely and we decide to inhabit a planet or their planet and slowly but surely destroying it like we are doing to our home planet. Then no, they wouldn't even allude us to better technology or ways to protect this planet.

I wouldn't go as far as saying I believe in "aliens" the way that we portray them on tv and movies. However, I find it very hard to believe that there is no other intelligent forms of life in the universe. It does not surprise me that we have not discovered "aliens"; especially since we are still discovering new forms of life on Earth, and have yet to understand a lot of forms of life we already know about.

Your probably are the reason why humans don't count as intelligent life forms, we can't even understand a simple sentence with a percentage.

I think where we are today, with Science and everything, we are probably the only intelligent life forms in the Universe. We have developed so far, and we know so much. Maybe, just maybe their might be life forms smarter, but I highly doubt it.
