Hello [P]wn[S]ystem[3] gamers!!!

I'm new to PS. Consoles in general. The last time I remember buying a console was the xbox. I sold it back after 3 months becuase I'm a natural born PC gamer. Now that I'm sick of Microsucks and their wonderful OS, I want to move my gaming time to PS3. I was going to get the xbox360 but I do not feel like making Bill any richer! One thing that made me change my mind is that you can now use keyboard and mouse with the consoles. Mouse/Keybo is the reason why I'm [was] a PC gamer. Ok, enough about me!

My questions are, which PS3 I should buy? 40g, 60g, or 80g? I hear lots of interests on the 60g, why? I was going to get the 40g becuase it comes with Spiderman3. But I can always purchase spidy seperate. I'm also getting COD4, Army of 2, and some sports games. I already have COD3 from a buddy of mine for $20. I already have an external 150g 10k rpm hard drive I can use. So I'm going to need at least 4 USB since 2 are already going to be used for my mouse and keybo.

Kindly place your comments and ideas. I dont want to regret later for buying the wrong options. Thank you for your support!

Ok the best machine to buy would be an american or japanese 60gb ps3 with Emotion engine (at least for most of us) but i don't think that would suit you (and you can't find those anymore so it really doesn't metter). You don't own a Ps2 so you dont have ps2 or ps1 games so there is no need to get the old ones with Emotion engine, so you either go for the 40gb or 60gb (new one) and seeing that you don't play any ps2 games i would defenently go to the 40gb.
But its your call m8 hope it helps you decide.

Thanks Pockets69, I was waiting to get the PS3 in March 08. I figured I've made up my mind by then. 40g only has 2 usb? firewire?

60gig is so popular for its amazing backwards compatabillity.

The 60gb model isnt being made anymore so its going to be very hard to get one,there is an 80gb model but ive heard that is going to be stopped as well.None of the PS3s have Firewire.

you are always able to use an usb hub on the ps3 40gb if you need to

imo, it's a way cheaper than the 80gb model and the only "features" missing are 2 usb ports (easy to get with an usb hub), 40gb more space on hdd and backwards compability, which you don't need anyway

go for the 40gb

Ok! Thanks guys! My interest has being on the 40g because of the price and free spidy3. Any usb hub model in particular? When is the white color PS3 coming to the US? I cant find the release date.

zill just to make sure your not making a mistake u cant actriualy(to my knowledge) use it as controols for a game but can for typing and such and if u use linux then mouse and keybord fully used btw(ps3 is amazing machine not 33% faluir rate lol)

Completly true dude,but maybe in the future we will be able to use keyboards and mice in games.

UT3 does. Hopefully more will follow suit.

If not, there's always the Splitfish FragFX controller.
