How to check if my borrowed PSP is viable for 5.50GEN-D3 fw? (need this for psjig)
Hello,
I had my brother borrow me a PSP from his friend, to be able to put my PS3 into service/factory mode; however for this I need the PSP to use fw "5.50GEN-D3"--how do I know this PSP model (how can I find out what model it is?) I have on my hands is viable for this fw, and won't brick? tldr: how do I find out if my psp model is viable for 5.50GEN-D3 Thanks. Last edited by viljo; 12-07-2011 at 09:22 PM. |

5.50GEN-D3 is a full CFW, not a LCFW, so PSPs that cannot install a full CFW (TA-88V3 and later PSP200X, all 300X, PSPgo (N100X), and PSP-Street (E100X)) cannot install 5.50GEN D-3.
Let's figure out if your PSP can. First thing, if you have a PSPgo which looks like this
which looks like this. Having only a single speaker on the left is the primary visual giveaway
Since we've cleared that up. Moving on. Remove the battery and read the sticker underneath in regards to PSP-1000, 2000, 3000 (The last 2 digits vary, not to worry. That is normal.) this is what you should see
If it is a PSP-1000, yes it can, no question. If it is a PSP-2000, some can, some can't. Look at the code in the red circled area. If this number is 8B or lower, yes you can install GEN-D3. If this number is 8C or higher, no you cannot. If it is a PSP-3000, it cannot. Last edited by jc_gargma; 12-08-2011 at 08:24 PM. Reason: Clarity of thought |
