E3 Flasher - 4.00 to 3.55 downgrade
Hi everyone, I've been having a problem on one of the steps installing the E3 Flasher Limited.
Everything has went ok so far but on the screen "Connect the controller using a USB cable, and then press the PS button". I know this is the screen that tells you that everything is ok so far and it's time to put in the USB dongle... this is the problem, my PS3 will not go into service mode. I have tried 4 different USB dongles - 2 different versions of PSBreak, a PS3break.com and also a MatrixPS3.com None of them takes effect when I press the Power + eject button. My question is, should I invest in a more expensive dongle (Cobra etc..) or is there a problem on what I am doing???... thus far, I have been very careful on what I am doing so I know I have not made any mistakes!!! Any suggestions would be much appreicated, I am using a 60gb FAT model. Just also to note, I have 2 other Slim PS3 (v4 and v4.11) and although I have not fitted an E3 flasher to these, the usb dongles also take no affect when I try to boot with the USB inserted... maybe of no relevance, just thought I would say it. Yes, I understand that these won't downgrade my PS3 itself but I need a "downgrade" dongle to get it into service mode...
5 Insert your downgrade dongle in the right USB port. Everything is ok, but I cannot seem to find a dongle to bring the PS3 into service mode. Any suggestions?? |

I use my psp to get into fsm, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I think you have to install something to your jailbreak dongle to make it a downgrade dongle.

How would I make a jailbreak dongle into a downgrade dongle????
OR, should I just buy an E3 Card reader, would that work? |
