I'm enjoying the debate! I don't particularly know Walmart's policies and actions so am not commenting on whether or not it deserves to be brought down, I'm talking specifically about the LP guys who would be affected by this and you wouldn't be the person making the sacrifice, these particular guys would be, and without a say in the matter to boot! It's easy to talk about sacrifice when it's someone else you're sacrificing. :D I know I'd be royally pissed off if I found my loss of a job is all for someone else's greater good. Just out of interest, is it for any other reason that you don't like Walmart or is it just that their CEOs make a lot of money? |

Is it okay to pay someone to protect and enrich the lives of an elite 1%, or to be fair the 10% - 20% who own 80% of America at the expense of the rest? Or should the lost prevention position be made vulnerable and hopefully non existent for every shopper at these dominating corporations. I propose the latter until your average American actually has a chance of running his or her own business. It is not only the CEOs specifically that I have beef with but rather corporate inequality in general. I also have beef with the fact the government and big business have a synergistic relationship at the expense of the people they serve. I was only using Duke as a prime example of the elite that own America.

It's obvious that the employees were every bit prepared to make you face the consequences for something you didn't do. I think you should make them equally accountable for something they did do. I might feel different had you not been profiled or if they had even bothered to offer you an apology. The worst part is that they made no attempt whatsoever at being discreet about it.

Most of us will have experienced 'bosses' who demand better work and better monthly results, and whilst they may not openly threaten you with the sack, they usually have nice little words that make it plain that unless you do better you are in line for the boot. The company is at fault here, not the individual workers (even if they are arse holes lol), and unless you know whether they acted as they did through their own choice or through being told that the monthly figures needed to go up you cannot judge them. Have a go at the ones who make the rules by all means, but leave the ones who have to follow them alone as let's be realistic here, they are in that job through need not desire. |
