Internal External Hard Dirve Stuttering??
Kinda new to the forum, hope this goes under PS3 modifications.
So, I read on another forum a couple things about internal stuttering on the PS3's. Anyways at the time, I decided to go with the Seagate 640gb as my internal hard drive because according to the forums, the seagate 640gb never had an issue with internal game stuttering. I now have the new 1tb samsung hard drive 9.5 and I'm wondering if anybody that uses it as their internal hard drive has had any issues with internal game stuttering? I'm debating if I should install it or maybe sell/keep it as an external and keep my 640gb as my internal. Last edited by z33; 01-12-2012 at 01:14 AM. |

I would keep the Seagate handy...I've never once had a Samsung drive last over a year...and I've had dozens of them. If I were you, I would sell that Samsung drive to some unsuspecting sucker while it is still working.

Just my two cents but in the last six months I've had two externals crap out on me. One was a 1.5tb Western Digital. It went bad when I tried to expand a partition. The other was a 1.5tb Seagate. The Seagate started with a bad click and progressively got worse until it wouldn't work. I'm about to send it off to get the data recovered because I've tried just about everything. I can tell you when a hard drive goes bad it's not good. If the data is important, my advice would be to get a new one and back it up as soon as possible.

Your WD is probably in good working order...most external WD drives have BS software built into them...remove said software and you should be able to wipe the drive partitions off completely and start from scratch.
