Here's a great read:
http://www.ps3hax.net/showpost.php?p=295478&postcount=9 6.60Pro-B10 may be what you're looking for. Here's a video TUT: How to Install 6.60 PRO B10 on ANY PSP MODEL *NO PANDORA* - YouTube

Links will not be provided. A cold boot, is when you completely power off your PSP. You would need to use fast recovery every time that happens.

if you have a psp 1000 or a psp 2000 some late 2000 models you cant and will brick.
But since you have a 1000 you don't have to use the fast recovery everytime you turn it on. When you download it run the upgrader and afterwords run the I think its the cpuid option its another option that flashers the loader permanently, until you upgrade or what not.... |

6.60 Pro is a L(CFW) or not PERM.
If you want a PERM solution: 1) Install 6.60 OFW 2) use "6.XX Downgrader v5" to downgrade to 6.39 3) then, since you have a PSP 1000 use 6.39 Me-2 Installer to put you on CFW thats PERM. PSP Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-2 (For PSP 1000 and 2000 ONLY) (w/Download Links) - YouTube @Edgelessdiamond I didn't know the "cpuid" will make it perm. Awesome.

You can upgrade to 6.39 also, since you're at 6.37.
