yes i ment nor
i have read a few thraeds about people with e3 flasher problems and bricks and none seem to resemble my case i would try the solder option but i dont think it would do much because the ps3 does not stay on long enough i have however read up on dual boot and it seems e3 can dual boot using the nor chip built into the e3 card itself another question or solution to my problem would be to install straight onto this chip but i am unsure how to do that if anyone can point me in the right direction would be much apreciated i have got access to a second ps3 if this helps in any way cheers for any help

Quote from PS3devwiki:
from my experince soldering a wire to the nor tristate point did nothing, try this method instead. manually patch your nor backup. place the patced backup and the e3_downgrade.bin file onto the SD card then put all the switches on the flasher down and hold start and turn on the console. if the console stays on and the flashing process begins when completed after rebooting the console should boot normally on the firmware you were trying to install, if you see two blue flashing lights and the console just turns off try this.. all switches down except the 6th one (lock/unlock) hold start on the flasher and turn on the console providing that the console stays on once finnished flashing DO NOT TURN THE CONSOLE OFF instead put the last switch down and press start again. once finnished reboot and hopefully the console should be back to life.
