question about ps3 slim, help please!

Hello!

My name is Jonas, I'm 20 and live in Belgium,
because I'm a student I don't really have the cash to buy a new ps3 or even a cheap second hand one.

Now i have stumbled upon a "broken" ps3 slim, in the description it says, if i turn my ps3 on the electricity shuts off (short circuit). The price for the slim is only 15euros, (20dollars?) Could it be a simple resistor problem and should i buy it or not?

i'm not a complete noob when it comes to electricity and i know my way around soldering etc.

anyhowwww, should i go for it or not?
(as it is only 15 euros...)

Thanks in advance!

Jonas

Yeah $20 for a slim, does it come with a hard drive? If it is the psu you can get one on fleabay for $40 or $50.

15 euro is always a good price just to see what's wrong might be a easy fix
but could also be fried inside and totally worthless

first thing to check is the psu remove it if it's shorting you'll know soon enough when you plug it with the powercord

you might be lucky and try another psu and i could even work normally again

short in psu = not per definition a dead console
