The PS4 isnt supposed to come out for 3 or 4 more years, from what i have read --> source, and I am guessing that Sony will most likely want a 10-15 year lifespan of the PS4, so there is no possible way that this will be stronger than the PS5, maybe stronger than the PS4 though, if the PS4 is released in less than 2 years.

hmmm what kind of card do you have i can play rage @ max resolution 1920x1080 with all settings maxed out and was it 16k textures or was it 8k, hmmm; and constant 60fps with no lag or any fps drop,
i have a msi hd 5850 twin frozr II: it has the same performance as a 6870 in dx9 and 10, but lacks performance in dx11
and bf3 c'mon, i can almost max that out on 1920x1080,
i am alsow eager to wait for doom 4 and quake 5 and half-life 3, muahahahahaha

i am planning to buy another 5850 for just under 100 euro, but then my cpu would be a bottleneck
5850cf = 6950, hell yeah, maybe overkill for now,

amd phenom II x4 810 @ 3.0 ghz, and don't say this cpu is old, it kicks ass, it was the one of the first am3 cpu

@Alexerer , You do know that a year after the ps3 was released sony allready started building the ps4, this was the same with the ps3,
and the gpu and cpu had to be made specific for the ps3, so they can't update there ps4 when there are new gpu's/cpu's out, otherwise they could never build the next gen consoles, and they CAN'T build a ps4 in just 2 years, it takes atleast a couple of years to develop, debuging testing,
and they need to have some games allready just for the release of the ps4, so game companies like ea, ubisoft etc... allready needs to have a ps4 debug system with the same specs to make/test those games, and to make a game alsow takes some years

example: take the ps3 gpu, the rsx is actually a modded nvidia GF 7800GTX, and it was released in 2005 ans the ps3 was released on 11 nov 2006, but to make a gpu takes mostly 1 to 2 years, since the 7series"AGP-not pci" was just a overclocked 6series version, just the same as 9xxx series is just a oc 8xxx series, infact they did even use the same layout, mobo's, etc...., but back to point, so they had to make the 7series in 2004, so if the ps4 is going to release next year expect that it has the same power as a gtx 260 or MAYBE a 460, but that would make the ps4 to expensive, so mostly it will have the same power as a ati 4870 or a gtx260, IF the ps4 comes out this year or the next

ow and @LoverboySimer its AMD and not ati but an amd 56300 is a mid end gpu and the 986000GTX would be a high end

^^, you can't compare a console gpu with a pc gpu,
example, DOOM 3 for PC needs atleast a geforce 6800gt to run properly
and DOOM 3 was alsow made for the xbox,
now some nvidia history
the nvidia riva tnt 2 was before the geforce, it was released in 1999, lets call this the first generation then the geforce 6 would be the seventh generation and it was released in 2004
back in the old days from the first pentium 3 the riva tnt2 could play games like half-life 1 & doom 1 and quake 1, maybe quake 2 aswell, i don't know
and since the xbox had a modded tiva tnt 2 model 64, well you get my point,

how the hell that they made that a first gen gpu in a console could perfom as a 7 generation gpu in a pc is because of the architecture.
So even if the ps4 would have a modded amd 4870 or a gtx260, it would surpass the current and next gen of gpu in pc world, mark my words

even now, the ps3 has a geforce 7800gtx, and it can play crysis 2 and battlefield 3" i pick these games because they are alsow on the pc and do need some decent pc to play these games, and i know that a pc with a geforce 7800gtx can't even play crysis 2 or bf3 even capped on 30fps instead of 60fps, just food for thought

And to who even said what am i ruining to utalize 16Kx16K textures in RAGE! after you fix the auto balance problem I run 3x 32" DELL Monitors. I'm a programmer i need my screen space. + work paid for them


And my pc has a hard time with BF3 on ultra, the GF pc can run it on ultra on a 5770 1920x1080 at a staple playing rate of 25fps. im almost 100% sure the game even tho on ultra only uses textures to comply with the hardware.

What i mean is even on ultra the game drops setting to medium/high in the background to run the game at a stable frame rate (dont flame me just an opinion) cause my game looks a hell of a lot better than my GF's when were both on ultra.

So you know what I'm talking about. I bought 8800GTX too jut when it came out, paid a ****load of money for it too. So I got home and found out that even the fastest GPU in the world (at the time) couldn't run CMR Dirt at max settings, I still had to turn off my sound card in control panel in order to get a decent framerate, just like I did with my older 7xxx card! That's when I figured buying the newest and fastest stuff is a waste of money. The fact that I replaced it twice during the warranty period just confirmed it. Since then I'm sticking to mid-range, "best bang for the buck" hardware.

are we talking about strong pcs capable of emulating anything? if so, there's a place where you can buy your customized Mac and you can choose the top of the line options. I put everything to the top there (aka money spender) and got a Mac costing about 20000€.
