Apparently you dont need a flasher to modify dev_flash files inside a PUP unless you are on 4.00, modified PUPs can be installed from 3.55 (should have known this as it makes sense) But to reinstall a modified pup wouldnt be possible so downgrading to 3.55 would be required every test. So that means if a stable 4.00 custom FW was made , everyone could just upgrade to it no problem, isnt that good news ! @ps3hen : Can you confirm that this XMBFM works on 4.00 pup you have made as that would be worth a main post update I think? (ive seen what you say about major bug but just wondering if the file Manager is functional when its booted up?) P.S I reckon your bug could be due to yourr FW trying to write to a registry option thats not there or not accessable or something like that or it wouldnt be ok when just pulling the plug out, it must be something it is writing or trying to write on exit. maybe..

Ok, ive made a new version of this , v0.04D , its set to only show in rebug mode on debug menu, thats what the "D" is for im making a version for OFW 3.55 now too , ill call that 0.04R for retail and OFW.

@samson is going to pkg it up for us when its ready. it nearly is.

Edit: Ive passed the v0.04D version links over to @samson , for packaging. Thanks samson. Ill send youthe links for the retail/OFW version soon.

Version 0.04D is going to be in a package but if you cant wait and want to try it version 0.03D is the same but not in a package.

Really only a few cosmetic differences in this update so not worth installing really, wait for the .pkg!

P.S. After installing the new pkg version , anyone with the package manager already installed and on debug menu will have to switch back to retail and back again to debug to get the files copied over into correct locations, this is the way the selector works and you will only need to do this the first time you want to show it, after that it will always be in debug XMB.

Thanks, Heres the XMBFM v0.03R for OFW 3.55 (and rebug retail menu). Im sure it should be ok on kmeaw 3.55 too but still no confirmation yet?

Again its the same as v0.04R will be once the package is out but its just the two files for swapping the old fashioned way! Not much added since 0.02 but ive just tidied up the titles a bit.

sorry guys i tried packing it, installed fine but on launching i got an error (8002951A) i'll try packing again in the morning with a different tool.. all i did was change the title a bit so i dont think its my end.

maybe because its rebug

Yes, This isnt going to change the fact that you would need a flasher to downgrade to 3.55, then upgrade to 4.00 again, sorry for misleading you with the title, it should read something more like it "runs" on 4.00 but cant be installed without building it into a CFW pup and upgrading from 3.55 or below. even then im sure its easy for sony to check for mods like this through PSN so it would be one way to get banned, going online with modded xmb.

Dont worry about the pkgs, im sure its something we can figure out. For now its not too much hassel too copy with multiman for testing, Might be for the best because if its released in a package every tom dick and harry will want to install it when its really got limited functions and needs more testing development.

Try use the original icon, maybe, it could have been my fault as i added "with XMBFM" in small letters underneath the rebug logo.
