logic board/motherboard

hey, wasnt sure which section this should be posted in, but im aware the logic board and motherboards are married to each other, but my question is, which part of the motherboard is the logic board married to, for examle my GPU is burnt out, so if i were to replace it, would i be able to replace the chip (as i can myself) and it would still be able to play anything form the blu-ray drive?

many thanks

GPU has nothing to BlueRay remarry, the GPU chip You can not change unless you have tools (BGA rework station) and be able to do reball.Look reflow or reball the ps3 on youtube.
