HDD maintenance in PS3?

Hey guys, is there a way i can give my HDD in the PS3 some maintenance on the file system? I was thinking along the lines of a defrag or checkdisc? The reason i ask is that i use playtv loads and i have noticed the odd slow down on recordings creeping in and wondered if there is anything i can do ?

Thanks

Here you go http://www.semperthree.com/ps3recoverymenu.html. Use options 3 and 4 in recovery.

That's actually a good idea. I always see everyone thinks to use that when things have gone wrong.

I like the idea of preventive maintenance.

No need to rebuild database, this is only for when say you have a game installed on the HDD that doesn't appear on the XMB, or a game appearing on the XMB that you don't actually have. Or corrupt files.
