Replaced ps3 psu with pc psu :)

okay so i think my ps3 psu has broken its keeps getting really hot and making the ps3 overheat and switch off...

can i use a spare pc psu as an external psu for the ps3...
and has any one got some info on how to do it

i thought i say you can use a xbox 360 psu with a bit of modding .if its cheaper to buy than a ps3 psu as its been said pc psu wont work . check out http://leham-forum.freegametalk.com/...a-xbox-360-psu

i have bridged the psu and now im gona find out what the pin outs are for it

i would thought if it powers out 12 v , ground and 5v it would work as thats what is needed to run the ps3

make sure the wattage of the psu matches(or exceeds) the one inside the ps3. and if you are still getting ylod it prob didn't work as well as you think it did as it may not be giving it enough power or it could be wired wrong

it's wired right...I checked over and over before
my ps3 got ylod a month ago and I fixed it with heat gun so it's probably ****ed.
