We'd might actually have a chance doing this if a distributed program was written to help crack the keys, this was done for TI calculators keys.
http://www.ticalc.org/archives/news/...45/145154.html http://boinc.unsads.com/rsals/ I'm sure if we could get a linux version and everyone ran that **** on their ps3 and their computer wed have it within a year. |

Lol, ummm...
I tried to think of how this could be useful, but honestly couldn't come up with something that couldn't just be reversed from everything that's already public. Besides, the most interesting keys left to get are console specific. |

Stupid Question and will follow with flames left and right, couldn't someone with a hardware flasher find a way to sit there and get Linux working in other os on OFW 4.0 and do what Geohotz did or am I wrong to assume that the new keys even prevent other os from running on 4.0? I mean at worse, have a dex ps3 run any kind of looping program and then hit it with a timing attack?
Probably a dumb idea and i'm sure this has been considered before, but 4.0 OFW HAS to be able to install pkg files from 3.55, just replace an EBOOT.BIN with 4.0 keys that is supposed to start a game, but is instead running a looping program? Even better, can't one sign a pkg file and a SELF file with 3.55 original keys and run it on OFW 4.0? it has to be able to still install/run games that have those keys to ensure older games run and work? Mods, if this is not the best place to ask this, please move to a more appropriate thread, and my bad in advance.
