I have installed qa flag and option appeared,but when I want to install ofw 3.55 from recovery mode it says No application update found
my flash disk is formatted fat32,and the update is in the folder PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT
please,help me

The Rogero's PS3 nor patcher is actually more reliable than the e3_downgrade.bin.
It says in the guide, it is normal to sometimes get a black screen instead of the connect controller screen.
Since you did not see that, I bet you did not read the guide close enough. And are doing something wrong.
Did you cut the power from the switch or pull the plug? Then use the dongle.

The PS3UPDAT.PUP file should be inside PS3/UPDATE

Make sure the pup file is named correctly and in the correct file path.

Or try to format the drive with the Quick box UNCHECKED.
Or try a different flash drive.

My Flash drive is ok

and I put the PS3UPDAT.PUP inside PS3/UPDATE,I have another flash drive but the same problem
I entered to debug settings to system update debug it's off I changed it to on after that the update appeared but the ps3 can't update in normal mode or recovey mode too.

what's the problem??

Oh trust me i read that dam thing word for word front to back at least 10 times because i knew it was missing something from before, and i have never had a issue before until the TUT was changed.


Thanks anyways i ended up figuring it out myself (not much activity on the forums)

problem is that there is no downgrade process what so ever in the TUT like there used to be, i personally don't see how it can work without have the downgrade.bin file but whatever i made my own instructions to keep that i know wont get changed

And i did get the black screen no hdd activity no wifi activity nothing.
tried writing the patched bios backup and then booting.... nothing tried multiple things and had no result until i brought the downgrade.bin file into it.

Also tried inserting downgrade dongle in multiple times after flashing etc.... no dongle activity until i did downgrade.bin

I myself just use the downgrade.bin as well. Never had an issue.

Hey player....I got my flasher installed no problem but im having some issues getting the dual boot to work...The flasher use to be in another ps3 at one point and the onboard nor was already flashed with 3.55 cfw...
I was following the dual boot guide but when it says to flip the switch to cfw, the ps3 would not boot.
I left the ps3 on ofw and downgraded it and the installed ofw 3.55 and the upgraded it 4.21 cfw. Worked good....
This is where my confusion starts...I wanna flash the onboard nor with this cfw...I flipped the proper switches and hit start..Everything went well i thought..
I powered down the ps3, flipped it back to ofw and swapped the drive....It would not boot. I could not get it to boot no matter what i did...swithing the dives back, flippin the switch to cfw again...nothing seemed to work. I then followed your guide and got it back to where i was.... all switches are down, cfw 4.21 is installed and i dont know which is the right way to set up the dual boot from here.
can you give me a hand?

I can not do it for you.
Redownload OFW 3.55.
Reformat your USB to fat32, do full format.
Use a different USB drive.
Clean your USB ports of dust.

I haven't done any fast dual boot. But to fast dual boot you need to update your flasher with the latest update.bin. And since your flasher was used with a different PS3, You will get not correct PS3 with that update.bin.

One thing you could try, is to press the red button on the top of the flasher. While it is powered on. That should clear the on board nor.
But I don't think it will allow you to dual boot.

Let me know if it does. Would be some good info. But I don't think it will.

You can Half dual boot. Which means you have to flash your bios each time, and have the correct hard drive in when you reboot.
